Thank you to all of you that came to BPAs August meeting and witnessed the installation of the Executive Board for 2011-2012. We were proud to have in our midst Attorney Timi Tucker, President of the Brevard County Bar Association, who took time from her busy schedule to not only speak to us but also to preside over the installation. We are thankful for Ms. Tuckers presence and support of our Association. Speaking about support, BPA strives to help students and paralegals on every occasion possible. Every year BPA awards two major
scholarships: Student Scholarship and Roseann Nelson CLA Professional Development Scholarship. The Student Scholarship is a cash scholarship awarded to a student in a paralegal program and its aim is to help the recipient to buy books, pay for tuition or whatever fits the need of the student. Roseann Nelson CLA Professional Development Scholarship is awarded each year to a paralegal to cover the application fee for certification examination. In order to do this, BPA needs to raise funds and your help is needed. This year BPA will host a yard sale. The yard sale will happen in October. I ask you to bring your donations to this months meeting and to the October meeting. If you would like also to volunteer your time, it will be highly appreciated. If you would like more information, please contact Kim Nowakowski at Kimberly.Nowakowski@ health-first.org or at 321-
434-4378. Lets make this event a success. Please attend the upcoming membership meeting, Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne. Attorney Steve Allender is our guest speaker on the topic Planning for TomorrowEstate and Nursing Home Planning for You and Your Family. I look forward to seeing each of you at the meeting. All the best,
Silvia

appeared to be healthy. However, as time progressed he began to show symptoms that alarmed doctors. At just eight months old, Morgan was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukodystrophy, a progressive genetic disorder that affects the central nervous system. Most children suffering from this disease dont live past their fourth birthday. Today, Morgan is 13 years old and continues to beat the odds. After Morgans diagnosis, Kristen Malfara began searching for answers for her own family. What she found was a purpose for her life and Morgans illness. After she began mentoring a local mother whose youngest child was also diagnosed with Leukodystrophy, the M.O.R.G.A.N. Project was born. Its mission is to provide support to parents/caregivers and act as a reference source for information, financial resources, used equipment exchanges, research and clinical studies, support groups, web links, etc. DONATE NOW Make a donation to The M.O.R.G.A.N. Project to help local families with disabled children! Thank you for helping! This is a 100% all-volunteer organization and all proceeds from donations go towards the support programs it has in place for chronically ill children with special needs. Any donation you can give will make a HUGE difference to those that need its help the most!
