256-bit AES data encryption at source Unlike other backup vendors that encrypt the data only at the server, Vaultize encrypts your data on your device itself before it is sent on the network and the encryption is done using your unique key (minimum 32 bytes long). AES encryption is a proven technology used by major financial institutions, banks, corporations, defense organizations and online vendors. 256-bit SSL network encryption with 4096-bit initial RSA keys The data between your device and Vaultize cloud is transferred over a SSL-protected connection, which is the same time-proven technology that secures all online transactions. OAuth protection All communication with Vaultize cloud servers is protected by OAuth 2.0, the technology used by Google, Facebook, Twitter and other popular web services. This means only authorized users and devices can access the servers and eventually only their data.

Additional Encryption in Cloud We additionally encrypt your already encrypted data on our servers with our secret keys before storing. This gives another layer of protection. Total privacy Only the owner of the data is allowed to access his data. Even the administrator of an organization is not allowed to access user data from the centralized admin console. All major operations that affect your data require you to reconfirm your password. For example, downloading data from other devices or creating a sync requires password. So even if your device is lost or falls in wrong hands, your data in backups or other devices is safe. Access Rights and Restrictions You can set access rights on your data while doing collaboration, sync or sharing. While collaborating with other users, you can control if they are allowed to only read or also modify the data. When sharing file/folders over web, you can set an access password and/or set an expiration date for the share. In synchronization, you get the option to setup either a one-way or a two-way sync.

World-class Data Center Vaultize servers are hosted in the world-class infrastructure of Rackspace Clouda leading cloud platform provider in US, UK and Hong Kong. Rackspace data centers are compliant with SAS 70 Type II, PCI DSS and ISO 27001 standards. They are also Safe Harbor certified. Rackspace network is Cisco-certified and offers 100% up-time. Cloud Advantage Being in the cloud, Vaultize servers capacity can increase or decrease any time depending on load and performance requirements, which results in consistent performance and near zero down-time. Load balancing and Clustering All our servers run in multi-zone clusters and are frontended by robust load balancers which means continuous availability, good connectivity and high performance. Also, the WebUI servers run in a separate cluster from data and meta-data servers removing chances of combined degradation or failure. Hardened Systems Vaultize servers run on XENServer-based virtual machines that are isolated from each other with each machine running a customized and hardened version of CentOS Linux. Super Savings with Superior Technology

Incremental Backup (Versioning) Whenever a file changes, we only backup and send the changes that have been made to it. This means very small amount of data is sent over wire and gets stored a lot of savings for you! Smart De-duplication and WAN Optimizations While backing a file, Vaultize divides data into small chunks (each 4K to 64 KB in size), computes a unique signature of the chunk and checks if the chunk is already present on the server. If it is there, Vaultize doesnt send or store it. And this is done across all users of your organization all the time, which means if the same or similar file is with multiple users (e.g. email attachments), only one copy will be stored and only sent once. Our algorithms are also pretty smart they understand many popular file formats (e.g. Office files, PST, PDF) so that de-duplication is maximum and efficient. Normally smart de-duplication results in as high as 80% savings in storage and bandwidth!

Compression Vaultize additionally compresses the chunks before sending and storing them. This results in an additional 10-15% saving in bandwidth and storage. Disk Shipping One of the big problems with online backup is the backup of initial data, which typically runs into hundreds of GBs or many TBs. This can take weeks or even months if sent over the WAN link. We provide a simple solution called Disk Shipping to address this. We give you a collector software that collects your initial data securely. You put it on a disk (e.g. external USB disk) that we ship to our cloud. This way huge amount of data can be transferred to the cloud in a weeks time saving time and bandwidth, and improving overall performance. Fast Backups Vaultize backups are very fast because we store the de-duplication, versioning and meta-data index in-memory and also on local disk. This means data or meta-data already sent or scanned need not be accessed again, resulting in high throughput. Flexible and Quick Restore You can restore individual files, folders or everything from a backup at any point in time in the past just enter the time and Vaultize will restore the file or the whole folder hierarchy as it existed at that time (called Snap View). Instant Restore of Important Data (Predictive Caching) Vaultize client software caches copies of important data on the users computer itself so that restoring recent or popular data is super quick. We have techniques that look at the users file access and work patterns to determine importance of data. Bandwidth Throttling You can tell Vaultize to put a cap on outgoing and/or incoming bandwidth usage. Web Access Users can view and download any of their files from the Vaultize Web Access portal any time. And the administrator can control which users are allowed to do so. Mobile Access Very soon, Vaultize users will be able to access their data from their smartphones and tablets (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Android). The administrator would also be able to control which users can have mobile access.

Enterprise-class Features

Centralized Administration A Vaultize administrator can manage all aspects of the solution from a web-based centralized administration console. He can manage users, devices, backups, syncs, etc. He can create and publish policies, change settings and configuration, do monitoring and look at reports. Best in the Class RPO and RTO With features like Near Continuous Data Protection and unlimited versioning (configurable), you can restore your data to almost any point in the past (best Recovery Point Objective - RPO). And with features like Disaster Recovery and Synchronization, you can have a near-zero RTO (Recovery Time Objective). None of the other cloud-based backup solutions offer anything like this. Open/Locked File Support Vaultize can backup files that are open within another program (e.g. a PST in Outlook). This means you are protected even when you are using critical files. Support for Databases Vaultize can backup databases that are VSS-compliant for example: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server. Near Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Vaultize automatically detects, identifies and backs up any change in a folder under protection. This is the default mode of backup. That means your data is always protected. Scheduled Backup Options Vaultize also gives options to schedule your backups periodically, at certain times of the day or certain days of the week. This is very useful for large files or applications (like Outlook) where data changes too frequently and not all data is qualified for backup. Support for Proxies We support most of the popular proxies including those with Active Directory Authentication (e.g. BlueCoat). Active Directory Integration You can deploy Vaultize using AD Group Policies and also do collection of initial data for Disk Shipping. We can also auto-detect and auto-register users from your AD if their email fields are populated. Flexibility of Deployment Enterprises with compliance requirements or huge data sizes can choose to deploy Vaultize in a private cloud, within cloud provider of their choice or inside their data centers. Vaultize can also be deployed as an appliance.
