The Osceola Center & Library Logo Design Contest

Use any medium you wish (colored pencils, paint, markers, electronic media, etc.) to create the Osceola Center & Library logo.

Osceola Public Library Board of Trustees is hosting a logo design contest open to all amateur artists. Entrants are to submit designs for a logo that represents not just the library, but the entire Center and it's proposed services and functions. The Osceola Center & Library will be seen as a place where we learn, share, create and come together." Eligibility This contest is open to amateur artists and creative minds of all ages. While only one submission will be chosen for the final logo, all entries may also be used by the library for presentations and/or artwork. Contest Rules and Regulations All submissions must be original and non-copyrighted work. Entries must include a completed and signed entry form with their submission and include the participants name, age, address and phone number. Initial entries can be submitted in any medium (i.e. paint, marker, pencil, digital media, etc.) Acceptable formats can be on paper or an electronic file on a CD. All entries submitted on paper should be no larger than 8.5 x 11 in size, and no smaller than 4 x 4. Submissions can be in black and white, or in color. Logo submissions are allowed to contain text, but are not required to. The deadline for submissions is October 14, 2011. The winning artist will be able to work with a graphic designer to finalize their drawing for publication. Artwork may be modified to optimize for print and digital reproduction and distribution.
I have read the Contest Rules, which are incorporated by reference in this Entry Agreement, and agree to abide by them. I understand that if I omit or falsify information, or if this Entry Agreement is not properly completed, I will not be eligible for, or may be disqualified from, this Contest. I represent and warrant that (1) I own all rights, title and interest in and to the Logo accompanying this Entry Agreement ("Logo"); (2) the Logo is my original work and has never been copyrighted, or, if copyrighted, I am the sole copyright owner within the meaning of the Copyright Act of the United States Code; (3) the Logo does not infringe the intellectual property or other legal rights of any other person or entity; and (4) upon submission to The Osceola Center & Library (The Center), ownership of said Logo, including but not limited to any derivative form thereof, shall vest exclusively with The Center. I understand that by submitting a Logo I am agreeing that The Center may use the Logo, and any derivative forms thereof, as The Center sees fit in its sole discretion, including but not limited to its use on The Centers website, for print publications and documents, and for archival and other purposes, and that such uses shall be without compensation and without consideration other than as provided for herein. I understand that the Logo I submit will not be returned. I understand and agree that the Logo submitted by me may be modified as deemed necessary by The Center. I understand that if I submitted a tagline (which is optional) with the Logo, all provisions of this Entry Agreement pertain equally to said tagline. Finally, I understand that The Center reserves the right to determine if a submission meets the requirements and purposes of this contest and the discretion to determine which entries will be posted on The Centers website. In consideration of acceptance of my entry in the Logo Design Contest as provided herein, I agree to hold harmless and to release, defend and indemnify the Osceola Center & Library and its officers, agents, volunteers, and employees from any and all damages, injuries, claims, or causes of action resulting from the submission of the enclosed Logo and/or my participation in this Contest.
