___________________________________________________________________ The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), an international organisation with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, is looking for qualified candidates to fill the above-mentioned position. The successful candidate will work as an Associate Project Officer within the secretariat of the Dialogue on Mediterranean Transit Migration (MTM), under the Southern Dimension of ICMPD. The MTM Dialogue is an informal and state-driven intergovernmental dialogue on migration between some 45 African, Middle Eastern, and European states. ICMPD ensures the secretariat of the MTM Dialogue, and implements targeted projects within this framework. The selected candidate will work on the Interactive Map on Migration (i-Map) project, contributing to substance outputs, focusing on the migratory situation in the region covered by the MTM Dialogue.

Tasks and Responsibilities


The Associate Project Officer performs the following specific tasks: Collecting information and conducting research on targeted migration issues in Europe, Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East; Analysing data, reports, and other documentation; Drafting reports; Contributing to substance preparation and servicing of intergovernmental meetings, workshops, and trainings; Assisting her/his supervisors in all aspects of their respective work; Drafting correspondence and liaising with external actors; and Carrying out other related tasks as assigned by her/his supervisors.

Qualification and Experience


University degree in international relations, law, development, economics, or migration studies; A relevant study and/or professional experience at national/international level performing research and analysis, preferably on Africa, the Middle East and/or Europe, is desirable; Knowledge on European, North, West and East African countries as well as Middle Eastern countries is desirable; Knowledge of global migration trends and of the European Union migration policy is desirable; Ability to work in a team; Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; very good cross-cultural communication skills; Proficiency in English is essential; French or Arabic is highly desirable; other relevant languages are an advantage; Initiative; ability to work under time pressure in a fast moving environment; reliable; and Advanced computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet research).
