MISSION
BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY Back to Church Sunday was observed in Anglican and Salvation Army churches across Australia last Sunday. Here in Darlington-Bellevue, feedback included: Ive been meaning to come back for ages. It wasnt until I was asked that I got my act together Im really interested in this thing about refugees. I know some other people who are too Ill be back from time to time. I like getting the email each week and reading the sermons The success of BTCS is not in how many people show up on the day, but in how many invitations are offered and conversations held about our faith and our church. ABM CHRISTMAS CARDS Each year the Anglican Board of Mission produces Christmas Cards which are sold as a fundraiser $7 for a packet of ten. Would you like to co-ordinate the sale of Christmas cards? If so, please speak to Father Chris.

RESOURCES
TEATOWELS AND HANDTOWELS A reminder to all people who are rostered on Morning Tea at the 10am service - please take home the used tea-towels from the kitchen and handtowels from the bathrooms, wash them and return them. DIOCESAN SYNOD Synods are the way that the Anglican Church sets policy and speaks publicly. Previous Synods have considered matters that directly affect Worshipping Communities - like revisions to the Prayer Book, whether women can be ordained, how Church Councils operate and how grants are distributed. Synods have also made resolutions about important matters in our society like the treatment of prisoners, asylum seeker policy and sustainability. This year, Diocesan Synod will take place from 8-9 October, commencing with a Eucharist at the Cathedral on Friday 8 October. Our Synod Representatives are the Rector, Britt Payne and Anne-Marie Lopez. Please pray for them as the Synod makes decisions about a range of matters.

CONNECTEDNESS
VISIT OF BISHOP DAVID AND MRS WINNIE TALANOA In November, we will be blessed to welcome back Winnie Talanoa, along with her husband Bishop David. They will spend three weeks in Perth having a holiday. Bishop David will preach and preside at the Eucharist on Sunday 13 November. Please feel free to chat to Murray and Cheryle Martin about their visit as there are currently tentative plans to help Winnie and David experience WA. GIFT FOR CHERYLE MARTIN At the end of this month, Cheryle will be concluding her work as Administrative Assistant after many years of faithful service. Church Council has set aside some funds for a gift, and now invites parishioners to also contribute. Please place cash or a cheque in an envelope marked Cheryle gift and place it in the collection OR speak to a Church Councillor. CARE TEAM Thank you to all those who offered feedback about the Pastoral Care Guidelines. The newly-configured Care Team will provide formal, organised assistance on behalf of the Worshipping Community to people who are: a) ill, convalescing or have ongoing health concern or b) are dealing with an emergency or crisis in their life. Would you like to be part of this team? We anticipate that it will consist of around four-six people who meet monthly, and serve on the team for two years. The team will function best with a mix of age and gender. Please make contact with the Rector to discuss your possible involvement.
