Some chapters have as few as 20 members, The United States Jaycees is a young ~chapter has just over 300 members, and men's largest chaptercomprised of individuals in the organization has more than 1,100 members.

We are the .~lng force behind the Coconut Grove Bed Race for Muscular Dystrophy; we plant and re~lsh palm trees in Kennedy Park, we hold parties for the underprivileged children in ~ Grove as well as many, many parties and fun projects. We run an annual canoe camping lp, a stag night party, family picnics and barbecues, etc. If you can think of it, we ~bably do it already; if not, we will.

in our

As you may remember from your Jaycee career, membership recruitment pl,ays a major role in how a chapter is judged on a state and national level" and is an important ingredient toward our successful, impact on the community. The more young men we attract to join our chapter the better we become, but more importantl,y, the better the individual becomes. The chapter has many accompZishments under our belt already' this Jaycee year (ending April 30th), too numerous to mention here and is very close to winning top awards in Florida and the nation. We need to sign 75 new members before April 30th to make the year a total success. Enclosed you'll find 5 membership applications. The dues are $35.00 per year per member. Perhaps you have employees or managers that may be interested in joining or may want additional information regarding membership. I woutd appreciate it greatly if you could pass on these applications to potential members and call me with their names and phone numbers. Thanking you in advance for your continued support.

H - 251-7936 P.S. A very popular option is our new corporate membership at $50.00 for the first member and'$35.00for each additional. For each $50.00 paid membership you receive 'a nice praque and a mention in our monthly newsletter.

THE COCONUT GROVE JAYCEES

- CORPORATE

MEMBERSHIP

PLAN

The Coconut Grove Jaycees Corporate Membership Program is designed to provide corporations the chance to support their communities in a visable, effective manner. As a result, the corporation can offer to their employees the opportunity to become involved in the world's Greatest Leadership Training Organization, The United States Jaycees. The cost to the corporation is nominal, the cost to the employee is only time, and the impact on the corporation's image, the employee's personal and professional growth, and the community's improvement are all substantially positive. THE ORGANIZATION The United states Jaycees have been in existance since 1920, offering to young men between the ages of 18-35 leadership training, community service and social activities. As of August, 1984, the United States Jaycees and the Florida Jaycees have changed their by-laws to include and accept women as members of their chapters as well. The Coconut Grove Jaycees were founded in September, 1976. The chapter has approximately 375 men avd women members, and are involved in a multitude of functions and projects in Coconut Grove, Miami, and Dade County. Membership is not restricted by geographic location of the member's horne or office, only by their desire to grow as a person through the Total Jaycee Concept - Individual Development, Community Development, and Management Development. The Coconut Grove Jaycees, serving population division IV in the State of Florida, has been awarded the Henry Giessenbier Award as The Best Chapter in the State in pop. dive IV for the last Three Consecutive Years. In addition, The Howard Award far the Best pop. dive IV Chapter in the UNITED STATES has been given to the Great Coconut Grove Jaycees the past Three Years Consecutively. The influence, impact and respect commanded by this chapter is unsurpassed in the south Florida area. THE COCONUT GROVE JAYCEES CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP PLAN 1st Member $50.00 Each Additional 35.00 In addition to sponsoring your first corporate member, the initial $50.00 fee provides you with an honorary plaque which can be displayed in your lobby or reception area identifying your corporation as an ongoing supporter of the community through the Jaycees. Each employee involved in the program will be required to attend general membership meetings on a periodic basis and become involved in at least two projects over the year.

THE JAYCEE CREED

WE BELIEVE: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men; That earth's great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life.

THE UNITED STATES JAYCEES, A LEADERSHIP TRAINING ORGANIZATION.
