356 Mail bag

It is a bag containing unregistered articles of the letter mail, registered articles of the letter mail enclosed in a registered bag, unregistered parcels and when parcel bag is not prescribed it may also contain articles of parcel mail. Mail bags are due bags. (Refer R bag) A silo under the stream GET THE CORE RIGHT of PROJECT ARROW with a target of achieving same day dispatch of all mail posted and same day delivery of all mail received at a Post Office. 364 Maternity Leave Applicable to the female permanent employees for a period of 180 days for two children. The leave availed will not be debited from any other leave. Full pay will be paid to the employee. A book maintained by the divisional head to make notes regarding any matters in his division that are noteworthy like landmarks of that area, places of historical importance etc. This book should be personally handed over to the relieving officer when the present incumbent is relieved. Misbehaviour or Misconduct of a central government official which may attract a penalty under CCS(CCA) Rules, 1965. If a transaction amount, which has to be credited in PO/RMS accounts, is not credited by the concerned official and instead misused for his own personal use, then there said to be a misappropriation of govt. funds. This may attract a penalty under CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965. An article/bag destined through a wrong route. A Money order in which the advising official has written a wrong destination at the top of the MO instead of actual destination is called Mis-drawn MO. Ex: For a MO destined to BERHAMPORE in West Bengal, PA has written BERHAMPUR which is in Orissa. An article/bag destined to or received at an office other than the office for which it is intended. Motor services used for transportation of Mails. It is of two types. DMMS (Departmental Mail Motor Service) - when the vehicle is operated by the Department and PMMS(Private Mail Motor Service) - when the vehicle is run on Contractual basis. It is the list of Lost or Stolen Certificates released by the department. Whenever a Savings certificate is discharged at the PO, this list should be mandatorily verified to avoid any fraudulent encashment. In computerized SB counter, this list is available as part of the Sanchay Post software. The process of connecting all the PCs in a network. The network may be a Peer to Peer network or Client-Server Network. In POs, we have ClientServer Network. (Refer Client PC) Notice of Hours of Business. It is the notice displayed in the Post office depicting the working hours of each category of transactions carried out in that particular Post Office.

National Savings Scheme, 1987 and 1992. These type of accounts are now discontinued. If the depositor approaches the Post Office, the existing NSS account has to be immediately closed.

The cost incurred on handling an international postal article by the destination country, which has to be remunerated by the originating country. Unique Identification Authority of India - An authority vested with the responsibility of providing identification number for each resident across the country which would be used primarily as the basis for efficient delivery of welfare services the citizens of India. India Post has signed an MoU with UIDAI for delivery of UID through Speed Post and do biometric authentication for UID. Absence from duty without prior sanction of leave which may lead to disciplinary action against the government servant. Refer Dies-non. Articles not taken delivery by the addressee even after 7 days from the date of intimation. These articles will be returned to the sender immediately.

All Post Offices are identified as Unit Bag Office for monitoring the movement of bags. They have to submit bag balance report to District Bag Office daily. Articles posted without postage. Double the postage will be recovered from the addressee at the delivery PO.

Void Money Order - MO received for payment after the expiry of its currency period. MO will be current upto the end of the account month following the month of issue. Software for processing of passports at Post Offices under Speed Post Passport service. A system adopted by India Post to convey closed bags except parcel bags. The bags will be conveyed, without limit of weight, through luggage vans of railways, under the custody of railway guards. It is used to decide the kind of article and the postage to be affixed/ paid for the article. Gross weight will be taken to decide the kind of article. Depending upon the dimension, either gross weight or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, will be taken for calculation of postage. To be noted in the cash bag & SO SLIP / BO SLIP / BODA. Used to check whether there is any loss of contents of bag.In deptl. POs, Sub account PA will weigh the cash/stamp bag in the presence of Treasurer and note it in SO SLIP/BO SLIP. Delivery of articles, at the Post Office premises instead of at the door step of the customer. Window delivery of accountable articles will be done only by the PA and not by the Postman. A form used for withdrawing an amount from a POSB scheme. A person who sees the transaction like delivery/payment happening and attests to the genuineness of the same by adding his/her own signature. In PO, Making of nomination for POSB accounts, payment of MOs to illiterates, pardanashin women should be witnessed.
