PowerPoint
- a presentation graphics program: software that helps you create slide show presentations
- provides tools you can use to create the objects that make up an effective slide show – charts,
graphs, bulleted lists, eye-catching text, multimedia video and sound clips, and more
- makes it easy to create slide show supplements, such as handouts, speaker’s notes, and
transparencies

presentation
- a file that contains one or more slides that you can display in a variety of ways

templates
- wizards that help you assemble slides – text and all – as well as many attractive designs
- can be used to create a polished, consistent look for all the slides
- has built-in color schemes and automatic text layout and formatting

placeholders
- boxes with dotted outlines that appear when you create a new slide
- serve as a placeholder for objects like slide title, texts, charts, table, organizational charts, and
clip art

action buttons
- objects which a user can click to jump to a different slide or different presentation

hyperlink
- a connection between two locations in the same document or in different documents
