Princess Purse: Instructions

Supplies: Ribbon (thin, about 2 yards, in any color), glue, scissors, and a craft knife. 1. Print at all the pages of the princess purse. This includes the sides, the body, the top, charms, and the handles. Begin by cutting out all of the pieces. Once they are all cut, take the body of the purse and using a craft knife, cut along the two parallel short pink lines. Next, fold the body along the two solid pink lines, away from you.

Glue the light pink side of Tab A to the inside section of the body of the purse, as seen in the diagram. Then, glue the light pink side of Tab B to the opposite inside section of the body of the purse, also shown in the diagram. Make sure that tabs A and B are glued to the blank side of the purse.

3. Now that the sides of the purse are attached to the body, it is time to glue the remaining small pink tabs to the body of the purse. Fold one side and one end of the body upward towards each other. Place a drop of glue on the tab closest to the bottom of the purse and attach it to the inside of the body. Hold it for 10 seconds. Repeat this step until all of the light pink tabs are glued into place on each side. Once you have one side firmly in place, glue the next side to the rest of the body and so on.

4. Next, take the top piece of the purse and fold Tab C away from you. Cover the tab with glue and attach it to the inside of the purse body, as shown in the diagram. Make sure you attach it to the backside of the purse. The front of the purse has two slits cut into it.

5. Take each handle and fold it in half along the center pink line. Then, glue each handle together so you have two handles, with the pattern on the front and back. To make one long handle, place glue on the end of the handle that says "glue" (see diagram below) up to the line. Then place the second handle over the glued part (but not beyond the line) and press firmly.

6. Now that the handles are attached, place glue on each end of the long handle and attach the ends to the inside of the purse. Make sure you attach the handles to the short sides of the purse. Each handle can be glued as far down as the bottom of the purse, or it can be glued up higher for a longer handle.

7. Now, you can fold the top part of the purse over the body and under the handle. Insert the top of the purse into the cut slits on the front of the purse. The latch on the top of the purse can slide under the first slit and back up through the second slit, which will hold it in place.

8. The last thing to do is attach some charms to the purse. Cut two pieces of ribbon about 7 inches long, each. One or two of the ribbon ends can be cut shorter if you want to vary the length of the charms. Tie the ribbons to one side of the handle near the top of the purse. Tie them in a knot, not a bow. The ends of the ribbon should hang down about one inch from the bottom. Cut out the charms so that they are connected in the middle. Place glue on the blank side of one of the charms and close it around the end of one of the ribbons. Repeat this with the remaining charms and the remaining ribbon ends. You can use as many ribbons and charms as you like. The last charm is the big jeweled flower. Cut out this charm and attach it to the cut strip on the front of the purse with a single tiny drop of glue. Be careful not to glue the strip closed. The purse is now complete and fit for any princess to place her most sacred and special treasures in.
