WBT 1: MEETING PEOPLE


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Greeting people and responding to greetings – phrases like hello, how
are you, I’m fine
• Introducing oneself and others – saying one’s name, where one is from,
what one does
• Asking questions – What’s your name? What do you do? Where are you
from?
• Common nouns and adjectives
• Use of the verb to be with I, we, you, he, she, It, and they
• Expressions and contractions, I’m, he’s she’s, they’re, this is
• Saying numbers from 1 to 4
• Names of well known countries and of states of India

WBT 2: MY FAMILY
Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Nouns used for people – man, woman, girl, boy, baby.
• Nouns used for family members – parents, father, mother, child, children,
daughter, son, sister, brother, husband, wife
• Adjectives used with ages – young, old, teenaged, little, younger, older
• Names of common jobs
• Singular and plural forms of the nouns introduced
• The verb have and has
• Pronouns his and her
• Numbers from 1 to 20

WBT 3: ASKING QUESTIONS

Objectives: This session covers the following:
• The verb form to be.
• The negative form of the verb to be
• Asking questions
• Correcting people.
• Negatives (isn’t, aren’t)
• Yes/no answers
• What? Where? Who? questions

WBT 4: COLOURS AROUND YOU

Objectives: This session covers the following:


• Basic colours: red, yellow, blue, green, black, grey, pink, orange, white,
brown; additional colours in the rainbow: violet, indigo
• Common objects in the office: desk, table, computer, files, telephone,
chair, papers, computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, curtains, carpet,
flowers
• Vocabulary for gifts - watch, book, music CD, jeans, umbrella,
• Correct usage of it’s and they’re
• Place prepositions - in, under, behind, on, in front of, below, above, beside

WBT 5: HOLIDAY GETAWAYS


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Basic ways of describing things
• Descriptive sentences with There is, there are, there isn’t, there aren’t
• Some, any, a lot of, lots of
• Questions with:
o Is there____?
o Are there___?
o How many__?

WBT 6: HOME SWEET HOME


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Aspects of homes and other buildings that people live in
• Kinds of rooms and the furniture used in each room
• Objects of everyday use in homes and other buildings
• Noting down addresses and phone numbers correctly

WBT 7: IT’S MY LIFE


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Talking about what people do and don’t do.
• Action words in the present

• Simple statements using like, usually and sometimes
• Verbs: listen, exercise, walk, lift, eat, drink, play, deal, help, attend, go,

WBT 8: FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Objectives: This session covers the following:


• Common types of food: rice, bread, cereal, carrot, tomato, cabbage,
mushroom, banana, orange, apple, grapes, meat, fish, eggs, milk, curd,
cake, oil, chocolate
• Food groups — cereals, vegetables, fruit, meats, and fats.
• The usage of the action word ‘eat’
• Commonly used table items, for example spoon, fork, knife, plate, glass,
salt, pepper, sugar, ketchup, napkin

WBT 9: MAKING FRIENDS


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Learn to ask people about what they do
• Frame questions beginning with What, When, Why, Who, Where, Which
• Frame Yes/No questions to elicit positive or negative answers
• Make simple statements about your daily routine

WBT 10: BUYING THINGS


Objectives: This session covers the following:
• Language for buying things at a shop
• Ask questions about location of and direction to places
• Ask questions to get information about products — price, size, colour,
flavour
• Words of comparison — nicer, better, small, too big
• New phrases: near by, end of the street, next to, beside it, in front of

WBT 11: AT THE PARK


Objectives: This session covers the following:

• Present continuous tense
• Asking someone what they are doing, speaking about what he/she hears
or sees happening, and saying what people are doing and/or where they
are.
• Actions in present continuous: playing football, watching cricket, dancing,
and so on

Objectives: This session covers the following:

Objectives: This session covers the following:

WBT 14: THE CALENDAR


Objectives: This session covers the following:

WBT 21: BETTER THAN THE BEST


Objectives: This session covers the following:
