COMPUTING SKILLS
My computing knowledge covers a very broad area. My main areas of
interest are Computer Security, Programming and Network Technologies.
Due to my main interest being security I take pride in being completely up
to date with all current and possible future technologies.

I have a lot of experience and knowledge about many Operating Systems

from MS-DOS right through to Windows Vista beta, including Server
systems. My primary Operating System is GNU/Linux, I have used many
distributions of this system from both a client and server stand point. I
also have good experience with OpenBSD/FreeBSD and Solaris 10.
Recently I have also researched upon other Operating Systems such as
Symbian for mobiles and embedded Linux on handhelds.

My networking knowledge consists of mainly the CCNA syllabus with a

greater emphasis on security. My understanding ranges from low level data
signaling theory to in-depth knowledge of each major protocol and
VPN/Remote solutions. I have set up many networks consisting of wired
and wireless nodes with many different operating systems. I also have
 experience with developing network applications and using network based
applications.

I have knowledge of using various programming/scripting languages.

These include; C, Java, Perl, PHP, ASP, SQL, VB, Shell, ASM, HTML,
CSS, JavaScript and small experience with many others. My object oriented
and procedural understanding is very high. I have developed software for
Windows, Linux and Symbian devices. I also have the capability to create
complex websites using many of today’s web technologies but mainly PHP.
I know each of these languages in depth enough to find security
weaknesses quickly and know how to fix them. My knowledge of memory
management is very good which helps with debugging and fixing security
holes.

As mentioned, my specialist area of computing is security. My wealth of

knowledge in this area is very up to date and ever growing. I can perform
network/application/web security audits thoroughly and generate
appropriate reports from my findings. I also enjoy researching into
vulnerabilities and solutions.

Apart from the aforementioned areas of computing I also have a solid

experience with hardware and computer repairs. I have voluntarily fixed the
PC’s and networks of many people. Due to my programming knowledge I
can easily find and remove spyware manually if software fails to achieve
this.

„ My responsibilities included developing and maintaining the company

E-Commerce web site. Create a more effective database system for the
handling of jobs, customers and stock. Also I visited many clients sites
of which included both commercial and domestic sectors, installing
networks and servers and repairing machines. From this experience I
learnt a great deal on commercial needs and gained a wealth of
knowledge on business aspects too. I learnt to become very professional
in my position.

• My role involved the handling of customers over the counter and

on the phone, creating the pizzas and serving. This role helped me
increase my customer relationship skills and improve my team
work skills.
INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES

My most enjoyable outside activity is currently keeping fit, body building

and martial arts. I have achieved a black belt in karate since the age of 10
which shows high levels of discipline and dedication. I’m a very sociable
person; I enjoy socializing with existing friends and meeting new friends. I
spend a lot of time reading both technical and novel based books. A lot of
my time is spent playing the bass guitar and often playing live shows.
