Editorial by Nirfu Welcome to the brand new EU magazine, Uber mag. It did take a bit longer than I planned to get this first issue out. I did start with the interview of NeverDie so I thought it would be easy to get all the rest. Some people did say no to me because in the beginning I was planning some sort of charge for it. Now when its free I hope the next issue will be easier to make. You will find this first issue a bit thin, there is two main explanations for this, my lap top did crash so some of the material I have to remake and put in future issues and the there is something called real life that takes a lot of time. I have had a real good time making this first issue and I have met a lot of nice and interesting people. I hope you will enjoy it. Further in the paper you will find a puzzle, I will send all my thanks to the people who have contributed with prices and I hope there will be more of you that will give free stuff for coming competitions. Since this is the first issue the format is just experimental and will most probably change in the future. Meet NeverDie I think most of you have heard of NeverDie. He is the one who bought the space station Mind Ark put out on auction in 2005. He got famous by being the one who bought the most valuable virtual item ever. He did spend $100 000 on a virtual space station. In some peoples mind he was a nut case and in some he is a genius to do so. The truth is that he did break even in second quarter of 2006. Its a tremendous achievement. To invest $100 000 and after 6-7 month get all the money back. And dont forget that he in theory could sell the space station for at least the same amount. The space station was named Club NeverDie, CND. CND is probably one of the best marketing ways of Mind Ark. I think many of you have started to play this game after reading about CND in some paper or seen it on the TV. I had the opportunity to meet NeverDie in virtual person for this interview. He is a very polite and caring person, he spends lot of time on the Entropia forum answering peoples questions and adding threads to the forum. At the same time he finds time to make music, make movies and manage his space station. He even has a kid and a wife. Where does he find all that time? When I did meet NeverDie I did ask him some questions; Is your avatar looks close to how you look in real life? Not really but I do identify with my Avatar, when I look in the Mirror, I see NeverDie in the reflection, not Jon. Are you a member of a society and in such case which? Warants, they are a bunch of very bad boys with expensive toys. How long have you played the game? I have played since the first Beta. Do you still enjoy the game? I love it! For me it doesnt get older, it gets newer with each VU. Do you miss the time when you where just a plain freelancer exploring the map of Eudoria? I remember those times fondly. Where do you spend most time? Entropia Universe or real life? Im usually thinking about Entropia Universe even if Im not in there... I'm in and out all the time... But I juggle a RL with my virtual Life. All in all how much have you deposit? I stopped counting when I Paid 1200 USD for a PreGold Imp MK II in ealry 2003... It was obvious I was nut case back then. Why Entropia Universe, have you tried some other games? I played all the Single Player ROG's of the 80's and 90's from Wizardry 1 to Might and Magic 5, I played Ultima Online and EverQuest and then I

started EU. What is your profession in game? Zoo Keeper! What is your highest skill? Dung Recycling. What skill would you like to improve? Land Management (MA didnt give us a skill tree for this yet). Do you TT or sell your loot? I TT a lot, Im embarrassed to admit. What is your favourite place in Entropia Universe? Memorial Island. What is the most fun thing in Entropia Universe? CND of course! What is your favourite weapon and armour? RJ ME is my favourite, although I will happily upgrade to improved DOA Strikehammer. I just like to fight up close and personal. I loved my PreGold improved MK II, but I dont hunt enough to justify such a magnificent weapon. I like the Protector of the Empire armour a lot, I still miss my Shadow... I had the first ever complete set, but I sacrificed it to bid for Treasure Island... However Im gonna stick to PoE for now. What is your favourite mob? Please tell why. Atrox I like going toe to toe with them.

What is best, buy your skills or earn them by hard work? Earning skills is extremely gratifying, but paying for them with money you have earned with your hard work is also very satisfying.. You live in Miami and have a beautiful wife why do you spend time in Entropia Universe? (Shouldnt you spend time at the beach drinking Pinacoladas) I take my laptop to the beach and drink Mojitos while I log in... Once in a

while during the middle of a battle, I run to the ocean for a swim... Really I do a bit of everything in a day, But if u ask my wife or kid, they will tell u Im on the computer all the time... so dont ask them... they dont know what they are talking about. Do you wear a cowboy hat in real life? I starred in a Western Movie "The Wooden Gun" its one of my favorite pictures i ever made, while wearing a Stetson * Your real life, are you an actor, musician or just an icon? I'm finishing a 2nd album at the moment. Im very excited about some of the tracks... The next Movie I want to make will be a fictional story about NEVERDIE, but Im not ready to focus on it yet... too busy being NEVERDIE * You have made a lot of movies which is your favourit? My favorite movies that I did are: Welcome Says the Angel The Wooden Gun Johnny Famous DogStar Lucinda's Spell Phoenix Point HEY DJ! Is it true that you first tried to buy Treasure Island? Yes, I sold most of my good stuff to buy it, but Deathifier deposited the money to Win the auction. How long have you owned CND? Since OCT 24th 2005, but I didnt get the deed until Dec 19th 2005. Should you sell CND if you got the right price? Not in the foreseeable future. What are the future plans of CND? To host world championship sporting events, Parties every night, events everyday... To make the place Hop Skip and Jump! How much influence do you have on Mind Ark? Obviously you have some, since they added the streaming audio. I have asked MA a Million times to get rid of the Orange Noob outfits and switch them with T shirts that say " I Love NEVERDIE" but they continue to ignore me. Are you free to change the interior and design of CND? Im not free to change anything, that doesnt stop me making suggestions however, but I think MA will continue to improve CND. So far no

changes have been made at all. What is your opinion on the background plots Mind Ark throws in to the game, such as the Droid wars, Exo queen/egg etc? I hope they continue to do them and make them more and more creative and more frequent Are you pleased with the progress of the game, what system/feature do you think they should delete and what are you missing? The Bigger it is, the slower the expansion I guess, but I think if a few more profession are added, then opportunities for people to trade and specialize will grow and then more and more people can make money... I want to see a virtual Reality that people can make a real living in. Do you think Mind Ark do enough to prevent scamming and hacking of accounts? I think if MA could dedicate a full time person to scam prevention, they probably would. For now they tell us not to lend stuff and to buy a Gold Card... This is the cheaper security method... One day hopefully a lending system will arrive. Was it good or bad that Mind Ark made so there is no longer an end to sweating? It means that someone can always make $2-$4 per day without ever depositing... I cant analyze the impact exactly but it means that you can definitely play without depositing and to me thats good. Are tools and sites such as PE Ass, PE auction etc good or bad for the game? I think they're very useful. Do you believe in Karma in Entropia Universe? I believe the laws of karma extend into virtual Reality, yes. If Mind Ark added vehicles to the game, what vehicle would you like to have? Im eager for star fighters and battle cruisers. What is your reaction regarding this part of the EULA; -"As part of your interactions with the System, you may acquire, create, design, or modify Virtual Items, but you agree that you will not gain any ownership interest whatsoever in any Virtual Item, and you hereby assign to MindArk all of your rights, title and interest in any such Virtual Item." I think this is to protect MA and as long as they are safe so are we, IF MA could be attacked by every person with a grievance it would be a nightmare... However I expect one day the EULA will change to better reflect what we have invested. Do you or Mind Ark own CND In my mind I own it. Do you have any special agreement for CND with Mind Ark? No agreements whatsoever.

Should music be free to download for everyone? Not free, its very expensive to make Good Music. Musicians have to make a living too. When should immaterial things be free and when should they not? I think its fair for things to pass into the public Domain after 100 years or so... But some things also cost money to maintain and distribute and their lies a good argument for corporations to renew their Copyrights.

Travel - Minopolis

that there even is a picture you can put in your estate; one Christmas Mind Ark did give Christmas clothes out for free, and the picture on it was a snow covered Minoplis. This is a place you must visit. North of Minopolis you will find hordes of Combibos and Snarksnoots up to Guardian level, all easy to kill with your amped Opalo. But beware; if you go to long north east you will meet a lot of Atrox Guardian and one or two Araneatrox Old Alphas. If you head north you will find places for low, mid level and uber hunters with prey that fit your needs. And in my opinion the loot here is always decent. South of Minopolis you will find Armax young and Caudatergus Guardian. South east you have to keep your eyes open since here again you might run in to an Araneatrox Stalker or two. When you head straight east you will find a strange place. Of some reason some one has placed two turrets here, but there is nothing to protect. If you are a miner, of course the name Minopolis has a legacy. You will for certain find ores and enmatters in all directions. Maybe you should shoot the higher mobs and try those areas; probably there hasnt been anyone else in the near vicinity for a long time.

Far east you have one of Eudorias unpolished diamonds. A small city called Minopolis. Some of you will find it hard to get there. Actually there is no easy way to Minopolis, maybe this is the thing that makes it one of the most silent places on Eudoria. When I talked to people there about why they come to Minopolis most of them said it was the quietness that made them come. The place actually has it all. Its one of the few places with a storage terminal right beside the teleporter. Next to the storage you will find a trade terminal with all needed equipments, and if that wasnt all there is a technician standing there and offering blue prints and blue print books. If you turn your head you will find a container with repair terminals and crafting machines. The only thing thats not there is an auction. I think this is another cause to the calm feeling. Some people compare Minopolis with Hadesheim; just another dead city. But compared to Hadesheim this is a place full of color and playful design. You will even find windmills here. The bio dome that occupies a large portion of the city is copied to several other places round Eudoria and even on Amathera. You will find copies in places like Port Atlantis and at Wolwerine. Why this dome design is so popular is hard to understand. The place is so popular

Items you wish you could afford

Chronicle armour One of the most expensive armours out there. Only the harness will cost you somewhere between 6 - 10K PED. This spike equipped armour is a dedicated gladiator armour, used by the famous Earth gladiators. Several sets were imported to Calypso right before the robot wars, in an attempt to introduce the noble gladiator sport to the colony. This cutresistant adm-alloy suit is very productive against most close combat attacks with edged weapons - even the feared Gladiator swords have difficulties inflicting serious damage to a wearer. It has some tremendous protection stats: Penetration Burn Stab Acid Durability 15.0 9.5 70.0 4.0 5000 Impact Cold Shrapnel Electric 13.0 6.0 12.0 4.5

The fact that the best PvP players fight without armour today and rely on a really good FAP instead of armour doesnt out rule that this is a cool object to own. And if you are really lucky you can get one for free since its a looted item. The only problem is that the mobs who loot them are Araneatroxs and Atroxs and its extremely rare that they show up in the loot window. Merger, DeMuro Painting Do you have an estate? Do you like clowns? Do you love pigs? Cant you stop looking at a naked girl? If you answer yes to all these questions and have 1500 PEDs then you should go to the closest auction and get your own DeMuro painting. Imagine the joy of placing a picture with two clowns and a naked girl riding on pigs. You can sit in your sofa and watch how the clown in the red hat fooling with her right tit while the blue clown pinch the little nymphs behind.

Urban Nomad Brigader coat Since Mind Ark added a ancient shipped just outside New Oxford everyone should buy some pirate gear. Im just waiting for sable, eye patch, parrot blueprints to drop. Meanwhile we have do with the things already here. So why not a Nomad Brigader coat? It will only make a 2000 PED hole in your PED card.

(Some of) The most skilled crafters in EU

As you know there are some uber crafters in the game. This is the persons you see make global after global. To be honest, there is no chance that you ever beat these in there profession. Etopia Craft clothes up to level 10 Colors she can use is; Blue, Brown, Orange, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Green and Dark Blue You can find here close to Echidna and Twin peaks. She have shops at; Genesis Star Tower B Block C #5 and #6 ( in front of TP) and CND shop #61 ( near main N TP ).

He says he dont really play a lot just login from time to time to craft a little.... , he have no stores . Sarah Zap Charlton Colors items, you bring the item and paint, and then she will paint them for a fee. She can use all available colors in the game, including white, red and black. You can contact here with a PM on www.entropiaforum.com, user Sarah. Use the search function and put in coloring services. To find her in the game you have to go to Ithaca where she often spends her time. And dont forget that she is a he in real life.

Rampagh Ram D'lon His main focus in crafting is weapons. This goes contrary to the typical Entropian mindset of skill on filters till you get BPC.He says he believe in only spending PED on what you want to gain skill in. His main crafting target is to get the undropped blueprints that are out there. He has purchased some of the blueprints that haven't dropped naturally for him, he also trade higher level ones. He has10 blueprint books that he is working on. He bounces from crafting machine to crafting machine in all the different cities/forts. He has a shop in EP shockzone! There you can find several of the weapons he global/HOF on daily.

Buzz Lightyear He makes mining tools and furniture. He has the coolest stores in the game. They are filled with mining gears and furniture. The furniture store is a small IKEA with all kind of furniture grouped by color. He usually spends his time out at Nate valley these days. You find his main mining shop at; Shop #64 at Club Neverdie (Go to Main Complex North TP, then South into the huge shopping mall area). He also have a shop keeper located right beside the Treasure Island City TP. You will find his main furniture shop at; Shop #63 at Club Neverdie (Go to Main Complex North TP, then South into the huge shopping mall area). He also has a smaller shop at Genesis Tower B, Block C, Shop #4 NZR tony demanoe He focuses on attachment crafting. He says he have excellent success on tools and weapons up to lvl8 . It looks like he sometimes also crafts furniture and clothes. Attachments he have excellent COS (Chance Of Success) up to lvl9 and armour up to lvl 10. He also have excellent COS on all lvls in equipments. highest skill, engineering 9300, bpc 9000 :P
