You are required to critically analyse an existing policy and procedures framework for recruitment, selection and induction from an organisation. This could be one from your workplace. If there are no written policies and procedures, develop a policy and procedures framework for recruitment, selection and induction addressing the criteria below. These are then set out in the document. Identify the recruitment, selection and induction processes and policy for the organisation Identify and analyse its linkage to the organisations strategic and operational plans Are advertising of vacant positions compliant with organisational policy and legal requirements? (a) Review and assess the training provisions and other forms of support provided to all persons involved in the recruitment and selection process. (b) Provide suggestions for improvements. Report on whether there has been an evaluation or trialling of forms and documents that support policies and procedures Provide feedback obtained from participants and relevant managers on the extent to which the induction process is meeting its objectives. This can be through informal interviews or a survey. Identify whether they have implemented strategies addressing the policys legal compliance to relevant legislations and its impact on diversity management Identify the role of psychometric assessment Identify the mix and types of positions. These should include part time, full time, casual, limited tenure and contractors. Identify the selection methods used and their impact on finding the best talents Identify the induction process and its impact on the new employees Analyse and summarise the data collected and provide suitable recommendations

Provide bibliography and a details of people interviewed and /or survey tools and results that you used to evaluate the recruitment, selection and induction processes You will need to do this full review going through each dot point and complete activities if required for example the feedback required you will need to interview or give survey to colleagues. Chapter 5 Attracting and Recruiting Staff, page 201 Please ensure that you address the following factors when answering the three (3) case study questions: The role of probation as part of the recruitment process Recruitment and selection methods, including assessment centres Relevant legislation on equal opportunity, industrial relations and antidiscrimination The purpose of psychometric and skills testing programs Most of you should have the Dessler text book - Dessler et al HRM 3e, Theory/Skills/Application - 3rd edition, Pearson Education Australia, 2007 from your first semester study.
