Dear Student, On Demand Online Examination as the name suggests, is a convenience provided by SCDL to the students, where they can choose the date & time on which they would like to appear for their online exam. Traditionally exams were conducted on a single day, or in a brief time period as decided by the college authorities. SCDL is providing the facility to the student to appear in the exam at a convenient time & date. For example, if student belongs to 2007 batch of SCDL and his 2nd semester exam subjects have been released for booking in June 08, then from June onwards you can start booking for these exams.

Procedure for Booking an Exam under On Demand Mode :

To book an exam, you will have to first submit your Exam form. The exam form is available on the site http: //www.scdl.net in student centre log in under the option Exam Form . For detailed procedure for submitting your Exam Form please refer to Annexure- I. To re- appear for any subject, student will have to pay Rs.150/- towards online exam fee per subject (1st attempt of the every subject for 20062007 batch students is free). Students can submit the online on demand exam fees in Cash at SCDL Cash Counter at Pune or by Demand Draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Director, SCDL, Pune and must be payable at Pune. SCDL shall not be responsible to process requests of students, who may have paid the online exam fee in ICICI Bank or any other bank. On receipt of duly filled online on demand exam enrollment form to SCDL, the online exam details will get updated to respective students log in within 3 working days. Exam Forms received during 1st till 20th day will be processed and booking of exam slots will be released in the SAME MONTH. Students will have to book their exam slots till 28th day of the SAME MONTH. However, the on demand online exam forms received from 21st till end of the month would be processed and booking of exam slots will be released on 1st day of the NEXT MONTH. The relevant students can book their exams during 1st till 28th day of the NEXT MONTH. So, if a students on demand online exam form has been received on 20-SEP-08 and uploaded in September, he/she will have to access the exam slot booking in the month of September till 28-SEP-08 and complete his/her exam slot booking for Oct & Nov. Thereafter, the validity of the said form will expire. (NB: SCDL does not guarantee availability of specific time slot/ specific day/ specific center. For free attempt i.e. once the on demand online exam Enrollment form received & processed will be counted as 1st attempt and not the actual slot booking)

Important Dates for Exam Registration

All completed exam forms reaching SCDL during 1st till 20th day of the every month are uploaded on the booking site in the same month. All forms reaching SCDL during 21st till end of the month are uploaded on the booking site in the subsequent month. Thus, if you want to appear for exams in the months of October, November, you must ensure that your form reaches SCDL office on or before 20th of September.

Important Dates for Exam Slot Booking

Once the on demand online exam form details have been processed & the subjects are uploaded on to the booking system, students can proceed for booking their on demand online exam slot. Slots can be booked every month for <TWO> subsequent months, i.e. if a candidates exam subjects have been uploaded in September, slot can be booked for any available date in October or November. Availability of Slots is on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Students should take print out of the hall ticket immediately after booking of slots. Students are requested to book exam slots within 3 working days, after the exam form processed & the subjects have been uploaded by SCDL on its web site, to avoid the non-availability of slots. The online exam booking is available only up to 28th of every month and slots once confirmed or booked will not be changed or rescheduled in any condition.

Process Flow of Online on-Demand Examination

SCDL student is advised to access the website www.scdl.net and login to the Student Centre of the website with Student Log In id and password. Thereafter select the subjects from the list of Not-attempted / Backlog subjects applicable to your program On completion of the selection of the subjects, the online examination enrollment form gets generated along with the information regarding fees to be paid, if any. Students have to take a print out of this Examination form. Thereafter, the Student is supposed to get the Demand Draft issued in the name of Director, SCDL and send the same along with the printed Exam Enrollment Form to SCDL, pune. Student may submit the exam form by Post/Courier OR Hand delivered.

Form is received by SCDL and processed within 3 days of receipt. Thereafter, those student data is uploaded on Online on-Demand Booking System (ODBS) of ATTEST. Forms received between 1st to 20th day of every month processed immediately by SCDL in the same month. Students are required to complete Exam Scheduling activity (i.e. Exam Slot Booking) before 28th day of the same month. FORMS RECEIVED BETWEEN 21ST TILL 29/30/31ST OF EVERY MONTH CAN COMPLETE EXAM SCHEDULING ACTIVITY ONLY AFTER 1ST DAY TILL 28TH DAY OF THE NEXT MONTH.

Form is received by SCDL however not processed due to some reason i.e. less exam fees paid, No Registration Number, Invalid Subject Details etc, hence form is returned to the student.

Important Information:
Exam Slot Booking is open from 1st to 28th of every month, for booking the exam date and time. The exam can be booked on any available date in the next 2 months (Refer to Illustration No. 1.1)

Student logs on the internet and access www.scdl.net (SCDL website) and puts in their login id and password to check whether his/her form has been processed.

Once logged on; The student clicks on the Book Exam Slot link (available on the left Menu) and verify the correctness of applied Subjects and Date of processing the Form. Please verify that Pop-up Blocker on your Internet Browser is DISABLED. He/She then clicks on Book Your Exam Slot link provided separately at the bottom of the subject details. Attest OnDemand Exam Slot Booking website appears in the new window. This would take the student to the Online on-Demand Booking System (ODBS).

While Exam Scheduling (Exam Slot Booking) the Student is supposed to complete the following process for each individual subject separately: 1) Select the desired Subject 2) Select the country as India, 3) Select the desired City, 4) Select the desired Centre from the drop down list, 5) Select the convenient Date from the available dates from the calendar (available dates marked in Yellow), 6) Select the convenient Time Slot from the available slots. The students are advised, try choosing different centre nearby, if the desired date not available at the desired centre. The exam slots are available on First Come First Serve basis.

Once the Subject, Centre, Date and Time of exam is selected by the student he/she needs to Confirm the selection. Thereafter, he/she can take a print out of the Hall Ticket (per subject) to complete this activity.
(No Exam is held on Centres weekly off & National Holidays)

Important Note: Students are requested to take print out of the Hall Ticket immediately after completing the Slot Booking.

Thereafter, the student goes to the ATTEST centre to appear for the exam on the scheduled date and time along with the Hall Ticket and SCDL ID or another photo Identification proof.

Declaration of Result by SCDL (Refer Performance Sheet Exam Date in MM/DD/YY format)

Students are advised to wait till the declaration of result (12th of every month) before he/she reapplies for the same subject, which was attempted in previous month. If still applied, such forms will not be processed by SCDL and will be returned to the student.

SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT Important Information:

Student is supposed to compulsorily pay for his/her re- attempt of any subject. The first attempt for 2006,2007 batches is FREE.

HIGHLIGHTS :Two Months Exam Slot Booking will be activated from Dec 2008 Slot Booking i.e. from 1st Dec 2008 onwards, students can book their exam slots for next 2 month i.e. for Jan & Feb 2009. Online Exam Score of attempted subject will be displayed in the popup window immediately after the completion of the online examination. Auto generated email of the marks record will be sent to the students for the information purpose.

Exam Instructions
1. Students are requested to report minimum 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination. 2. Students are warned not to use any unfair means in the examination hall. 3. Students are requested to carry their Exam Hall Ticket and their SCDL Identity Card to the exam centre. In case of no Identity Card, students are required to carry any other photo identity proof such as Driving License, Voter Id Card, Passport etc. for the temporary basis & should send written application with DD of Rs. 125/- along with passport size photograph for duplicate ID Card. 4. Students must sign the attendance sheet available at the centre without which their paper will not be assessed and the student would be marked absent for the exam. 5. Students are not allowed to bring Digital Diary, Cell Phone, Pager, Palmtops, iPods & Jewellery etc. in the examination hall. SCDL or the exam centre is not responsible for the safekeeping /loss of your belongings. Incase a student is found using any of the above mentioned gadgets, the same shall be confiscated and the student shall be debarred from the course. All Cell Phones should be Switched Off during the examination. 6. Smoking is not allowed in the campus area. High standards of discipline have to be maintained during the examination sessions. Defaulters will be dealt with strictly. 7. The online exam is an objective type of examination and has to be attempted using computers provided in the Exam Hall. Students are assumed to have basic knowledge of using a computer such as scrolling up & down, some typing, clicking with mouse etc., In the event of any force measure due to which the student is unable to attempt the exam in his/her slot or at the exam hall, SCDL will make required arrangements for such student(s) to reattempt the exam at another convenient date/time at no cost to the student (s). Force measures are described as natural disasters, sudden / unexpected failure of electricity / computer, hardware & software, local unrest / riots etc. In any conditions apart from those mentioned above, rescheduling of exam/slots will not be possible.

Procedure of On Demand Online Exam Enrollment form submission: Note: Logon to SCDL website: www.scdl.net Login into the student center with your username and password. In Student Center, click on the Exam Forms link on left menu bar in the page. Select the appropriate tab, to select new subjects. This page gives the Online Exam Policies, Instructions which the students have to read and follow. Scroll down to select the check box if you have thoroughly read the instructions and accept to follow the process and policies as mentioned. Click on the tab at the end to proceed to download the online exam form. You will see a list of subjects applicable to your program for the current semester and also for any pending* exams/backlog subjects for previous semester/s [if applicable]. Click the check box to select the subject/s that you wish to appear for. ( This form gives the list of subjects that are unattempted, unbooked or uncleared subject/s with the attempt information such as free or paid and total applicable fees to be paid, if any, in order to appear for exams.) Click on Submit button & confirm your selection which will refresh the form in PDF format i.e. printable format. Once confirmed the selected subjects cannot be again selected/deselected. This confirms the exam form requires to be sent to SCDL, Pune for processing and total amount payable for selected subjects to be paid through DD or cash at SCDL, Pune. {If you find all the information correct then click on the Submit button & confirm your selection which will refresh the form in .PDF format i.e. printable format.}

Note:

Note : Ensure Adobes Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. A copy of this PDF form is automatically stored in the Exam Form link (throughout the current month), to view and print, previous selected subjects for the current month. On the printed form, please enter the DD details such as DD number, DD date and Bank name on which the DD is drawn and post the form along with the DD to SCDL, Pune. Please note that forms without DD & DD details will not be processed (if exam fee is applicable).

9. Procedure of Online Slot Booking through On Demand Online Exam Booking System ( ODBS ) : Ensure active Pop-up Blocker (if any) on your internet browser is DISABLED. Login to SCDL website: www.scdl.net Login into the student center with your username and password. Click on Book exam slot link on let hand side menu. Click on the link Book Your Exam Slot below your exam subject details. Verify subject details & form processing date before you click on the link Book Your Exam Slot available separately at the bottom of the subject details table. You will be automatically diverted to the On Demand Online Exam Booking System (ODBS). The same appears in new window. Follow the instructions clearly while booking your slots. Ensure that you print the Hall Ticket once your slots are booked. (Slots once booked cannot be changed / modified.) Please affix your photo on the hall ticket. Please carry your Exam Hall Ticket & your SCDL Identity Card with you to the exam center. The exam centre representative is not responsible to admit you in the exam centre, if you fail to carry your SCDL Identity Card. 10. You are advised to visit our website www.scdl.net regularly for any news/changes regarding online examination. Note :- Students who have paid FULL Course Fees are eligible to appear in the On Demand Online Examination.
