People
commend
a
lot
of
crimes
in
many
diverse
countries.
Korea
is
known
for
having
a
low
crime
rate.
Even
though
Koreas
crime
rate
is
low,
some
horrible
crimes
still
happen.
A
lot
of
crimes
that
happen
in
Korea
are
rape
and
murder.
In
other
countries,
people
who
committed
murder
usually
deserve
capital
punishment.
In
Korea,
when
people
commit
murder,
murderers
get
a
life
sentence
instead
of
a
capital
punishment.
There
were
people
who
would
commit
murder
and
deserve
a
capital
punishment.
They
werent
executed
for
years
and
for
some
cases,
the
capital
punishment
was
taken
away
from
them.
Korea
should
have
a
stronger
death
penalty.

murdered violently. Every single event happened in Bussan. When people had found her dead body, she was in a water tank naked. Also, lime powder and bricks were on top of her body to cover her up from people finding her. The police founded traces of strangled neck and rape. Later on march 10th 2010, the murderer was found. He was Kim Kil Tae, who was thirty-three years old, and who had a dangerous history. Kim Kil Tae had received 4
5 Chung capital punishment at first, but later on, his punishment was changed to a life sentence (Kwon, Lee,). Case Studies Death penalty isnt strongly being enforced in Korea. Just like the
Kim
Kil
Tae
incident,
peoples
death
penalty
has
been
changed
to
a
life
sentence
(Kim).
Also,
some
people
who
have
been
assigned
capital
punishment
from
more
than
ten
years
ago
are
still
alive
(left
crime
capers).
Now,
the
criminals
are
receiving
lighter
punishments,
or
arent
being
executed.
Giving
them
lighter
punishment
or
more
time
will
let
the
criminals
to
escape
or
to
commit
other
crimes.
Giving
more
time
to
the
criminals
can
let
them
commit
another
murder
in
the
jail.
Also,
the
criminals
will
not
feel
guilty
about
what
they
have
done
if
they
deserve
a
lighter
punishment.
Capital
punishment
can
prevent
the
same
crime
happening
again

from
the
same
person.
This
happened
to
a
lot
of
criminals
in
Korea.
Before
Kim
Kil
Tae
committed
his
crime,
he
had
gone
to
jail
and
had
raped
many
other
people.
This
can
mean
that
one
person
can
commit
many
crimes.
This
also
had
happened
to
Kim
Jang
Ho.
He
have
received
life
sentence.
He
had
raped
and
murdered
an
eleven
years
old
girl.
Before
he
committed
that
crime,
he
went
to
jail
for
two
years
for
raping
a
girl.
This
shows
how
a
person
can
commit
multiples
of
crimes
(Youngsan
Elementary
Student
Raped
and
Murdered).

6 Chung Stronger death penalty can stop other criminals from committing
crimes. Stronger death penalty and actually applying the death penalty can inspire other people from committing other crimes. It can give them a fresh shock by showing a clear vision of what will happen to them if they do something bad like the criminal that is being executed. It will also show the power of the punishment and show the criminals that they actually meant it when they assigned them a death penalty. Conclusion Stronger death penalties will be essential to keep Korea a safe
country.
Korea
can
become
a
stronger
country
by
having
to
enforce
stronger
death
penalties.
Also,
stronger
death
penalties
can
prevent
same
crime
happening
from
the
same
person
again
and
can
stop
other
criminals
from
committing
crimes.
I
hope
that
Korea
can
come
up
with
better
solutions
to
protect
the
country
and
have
stronger
death
penalties.
