Teacher (Quest Middle School) Campus Director As Assigned

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Teaches and facilitates learning for students in a Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd) school, maintaining academic progress, administering formative and summative assessments, interpret student data and develop instruction accordingly, manage classroom discipline and maintaining accurate records. Works with parents and students to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of all students. Qualifications: Education/Certification Must be No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Highly Qualified (HQ) with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.A.or B.S.) from four-year accredited College or University. In addition to the four degree one of the following must also be met for HQ status: (1) Texas State Teachers Certification (TExES 4-8 Generalist); (2) passing score on an ExCET/TExES core academic area examination. Experience Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified requirements (see above). Teaching experience in a Public School is preferred. Teachers Certification 4-8 Generalist required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Must have a passion for students. Must be able to maintain a classroom of approximately 25 students. Must have the ability and patience to work interactively with students. Must be computer literate. Must have strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to learn and implement teaching curriculum programs and instruct students on utilization. Must have the ability to understand the individual needs of each student. Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of students, their parents, the community, peers, administrative staff, Campus Directors, Superintendents, and corporate staff. Must have the ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessments scoring, and grade point average. Must have the ability to transition with changes. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties: The Teacher will be responsible for the Instructional and Program Management for all students assigned. The Teacher will administer and monitor Diagnostic Tests to determine a students performance level. The Teacher will instruct and motivate students in all course study. The Teacher will assign lessons and correct homework in a timely manner. The Teacher will administer tests to evaluate students progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress. The Teacher will maintain discipline in the classroom. The Teacher will maintain a classroom that is conducive to learning, safe, attractive and stimulating. The Teacher will set a good housekeeping example in the classroom and encourages students to follow this example. The Teacher will communicate with parents to discuss student progress and problems. The Teacher will participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops. The Teacher will inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build students selfesteem and promote continued success. The Teacher will praise students, compliment them and encourages them in order to build character. The Teacher will utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the students learning experiences. The Teacher will prepare classroom instructions to promote students success on the states assessment exams (TAKS, TEKS, and STAAR). The Teacher will work closely with the Special Education teacher to ensure special education students modifications are being implemented. The Teacher will perform related duties such as assisting students, and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems. Other Responsibilities and Duties: The Teacher will master the Responsive Education Solutions Quest Curriculum System in order to assist the students in mastering the system. The Teacher will read and comply with the ResponsiveEd Procedures Manual, Student Handbook, Student Code of Conduct, and the Employee Handbook. The Teacher will travel as required.
