They also need to work on the ergonomic work stations, or control stands in laymans language, which is still somewhat uncomfortable. They also need to do something about the electronic automatic brake valve or bring back a real brake valve that is actually usable, which I'm sure they won't do. To me, it's kind of hard to get the feel for the train or locomotive consist with the two electronic brake valves.

Gee. Wouldn't you love to get a blank window sticker and put all that stuff on it and stick it in the window at a new car or truck dealership? Talk about sticker shock, especially if you put the price and a realistic fuel usage guestimate on it. On the GE side of things, CSX I heard is paying 1.4 Million apiece for there ES44DC's. Now they get there stuff pretty bare-bones, and don't have half the tecno-crap that BNSF would put in the same loco. Like distributed power, pace-setter equipment. They did get the remote downloading and special ordered extra weight on the loco making it one of there "Heavies" rated at 432,000 lbs. Versus BNSF's 420,000 I believe. According to page 17 of BNSF's 2006 Annual Report, BNSF was in the process of purchasing 200 locomotives at a cost of $350 million - or $1.75M per locomotive - in Fiscal Year 2007.
