DEMAT ACCOUNT IN BONANZA How to Open Demat Account for Online Trading?

Demat account opening is very simple. All you are supposed to do is to approach a DP registered with SEBI, the regulator of Indian Stock Market. Demat services are presently being offered by all stock broking houses, as well as several financial and banking institutions. LITERATURE REVIEW

Demat account, popularly used short name for dematerialised account, is something you would require in case you wish to online purchase and sale of securities such as stocks, mutual funds, gold etfs, etc. Although you have the option of receiving securities in physical or demat mode, it would be advisable for you to receive the dematerialized form of your security. Demat account and its functioning resembles that of a bank account. Just the way a savings bank account holds money, A demat account holds securities. It helps in holding securities electronically, or in other words, in dematerialized form. This feature helps in doing away with all the negative points of physical possession of securities. In addition, a periodic statement of transactions and holdings is also provided by the Depositary Participant (DP) that is similar to bank statement or passbook.

Online Trading The act or practice of buying and selling securities over the Internet. Generally speaking, online trading occurs when an investor makes an order to a broker online; the broker then executes the order through the ordinary means. Online trading became more common in the 1990s as more brokerages offered their services online, often for a small fee rather than a commission on the trade. Online trading should be distinguished from electronic trading, which occurs on an exchange. See also: Discount brokerage. Online trading in India is the internet based investment activity that involves no direct involvement of the broker. There are many leading online trading portals in India along with the online trading platforms of the biggest stock houses like the National stock exchange and the Bombay stock exchange. The total portion of online share trading India has been found to have grown from just 3 per cent of the total turnover in 2003-04 to 16 per cent in 2006-07. The investor has to register with an online trading portal and get into an agreement with the firm to trade in different securities following the terms and conditions listed down on the agreement. The order processing is done in correct timings as the servers of the online trading portal are connected to the stock exchanges and designated banks all round the clock. They can also get updates on the trading and check the current status of their orders either through e-mail or through the interface. Brokerage also provides research content on their websites, such that the clients can take their own decisions on stocks before investing. .

1. Primary data collection methods: To know the response I have used the questionnaire method in sample survey. If one wishes to find what people think or know, the logical procedure is to ask them. In this method questionnaire will be distributed to the respondents and they will be asked to answer the questions in the questionnaire. The questionnaires will be structured nondisguised questionnaire because the questions, which the questionnaire contained, will be arranged in a specific order besides every question asked will be logical for the study and no question can be termed as irrelevant. 2. Secondary data collection methods: The secondary collection methods includes the lectures of the superintend of the department of market operations and so on. Also the data collected from the news, magazines and different books issues of this study. Tools for Data Analysis: Mean method of data analysis For a data set, the mean is the sum of the values divided by the number of values. The mean of a set of numbers x1, x2... xn is typically denoted by, pronounced "x bar". This mean is a type of arithmetic mean. If the data set was based on a series of observations obtained by Sampling a statistical population, this mean is termed the "sample mean" to distinguish it from the "population mean" Standard deviation method of data analysis Standard deviation is a widely used measurement of variability or diversity used in statistics and probability theory. It shows how much variation or "dispersion" there is from the "average" (mean, or expected/budgeted value). A low standard deviation indicates that the data points tend to be very close to the mean, whereas high standard deviation indicates that the data are spread out over a large range of values. Beta The beta coefficient is a key parameter in the capital asset pricing model (CAPM). It measures the part of the asset's statistical variance that cannot be removed by the diversification provided by the portfolio of many risky assets, because of the correlation of its returns with the returns of the other assets that are in the portfolio. Beta can be estimated for individual companies using regression analysis against a stock market index.
