Adding Integers
with the
SAME sign
When the signs are the SAME, you ADD the two numbers, and the answer keeps the sign.
Examples:
When the signs are the SAME, your answer will always b.ePOSITIVE.
Examples:
3 x 4:::: 12
(-5)(-2) = 10
21=3

~16+(-2)=8
When the sig ns are the DIFFERENT, you SUBTRACT the two numbers, and the answer keeps the sign of the LARGER number.
Examples:

-7 + 4 = -(7 - 4) = -3
