COURSE CONTENT:
By the end of the two-day program, delegates will have an understanding and a thorough knowledge of the following: Hazards of Over water Operations Helicopters; Pre ditching drills; Surface abandonment; Underwater Escape; Sea Survival skills and techniques; Basic Fire Fighting theory; Practical uses of fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets; and Basic Life Support CPR, DRABC.
COMPETENCY:
Delegates are required to pass an assessment of practical skills and a written or verbal examination of theory.
PRE REQUISITE:
Delegates must hold a valid and current medical certificate in accordance with: If non-marine industry personnel Industry Standards. If marine industry personnel As per-SOLAS chapter 9.
METHOD OF TRAINING:
Day One: Marine & Offshore Groups HUET and Sea Survival Course. Day Two: Basic emergency training including Fire Awareness and Basic Life Support Skills. This course can be conducted at remote locations with sufficient resources such as a swimming pool and a suitable open area for fire training. (Minimum required pool depth is 2 metres.)

To ensure that new entrants to the offshore industry, and employees with offshore experience that are new to an installation, can demonstrate competence in; Addressing offshore safety requirements, Controlling hazards on an offshore installation, Acting in an emergency, Using personal safety equipment, and Carrying out their individual responsibilities for health and safety.
COURSE CONTENT:

On the completion of this activity, delegates will be able to demonstrate a competence in the theory and practice of the following: Launch and inflate a life raft, Right and board a life raft unassisted, Life raft management techniques, Life raft emergency equipment and usage, Basic injury management, and Basic survival techniques in open water.

METHOD OF TRAINING:
This course is conducted in two phases. Initial phase is a half-day theory course covering all aspects of the life raft and survival at sea. Classroom training utilises demonstrations of all equipment and discussion on the method of use of the emergency equipment. The second phase is an entirely practical training section conducted in a water environment, where all delegates are required to practice and demonstrate the application of all techniques learned in both sessions.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
On completion, delegates will be able to demonstrate competence in theory and practice of the following: Surface Abandonment, Pre ditching checks, Ditching aircraft capsize, Lifejackets, Life rafts, EPIRBs & ELTs, Safe use of pyrotechnics, Search & Rescue (SAR), Recovery, Sea Survival, and Helicopter Safety.
COMPETENCY

COURSE CONTENT:
On completion, delegates will be able to demonstrate competence in the theory and practice of the following: Transmit and receive radio messages between the helicopter and platform; Advise the helicopter pilot of weather, wind and sea conditions on site; Understanding of helideck operations and safety requirements / procedures (as per ICAO Standards); Ascertain and advise the helicopter pilot as to whether safety requirements related to aircraft operations have been adhered to; Supervise the movements of passengers, baggage and cargo to and from helicopter; Familiarity with different helicopter types and their operation and emergency procedures; Advise shore stations of helicopter movements, estimated time of arrival (ETA), estimated time of departure (ETD) and manifest details; Ensuring adequate fire protection is provided for each take off and landing; Familiarity with management of dangerous good (DC); Helicopter refuelling and procedures (offshore); Basic marshalling signals; Shutdown and security of aircraft on helideck; Hot refuelling procedures; Ensuring that the platform meets the safety requirements for helicopter operations (i.e. crane/s secured); and Introduction to specialised operations (Search and Rescue, winching, medivac, night operations).

This course includes the study of the following subjects: Work Safely around Aircraft, Helideck Specifications and Safety Equipment, Helideck Procedures & Communication, Offshore Helideck Attendant Duties and Responsibilities, Helicopter Operations, Passenger and Freight Handling, Helicopter Support and Refuelling, Helideck Emergency and Rescue, and Helideck Fire Fighting.
COMPETENCY:
The level of competency attained in this course is a Certificate for Offshore Helideck Attendant with attainment of the following units of Competency to the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF) standards in the Aviation Skills set: PUAFIR209B - Work safely around aircraft. AVI1Z508B - Maintain basic situation awareness in the aviation workplace. AVI3F508B - Maintain the safety of people and aircraft. TLIA107C - Secure cargo.
The course also includes the Australian civil aviation industry standard Civil Aviation Order 20.11 Appendix IV Crew member emergency procedures proficiency test and certificate which meets International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and is recognised within all ICAO contracting countries.

Helicopter Refuelling
COURSE AIM:
To provide the essential knowledge, skills, and normal and emergency operating procedures for personnel involved with the refuelling of helicopters.
COURSE CONTENT:
This course includes the study of the following subjects: Work Safely around Aircraft. Refuelling and Safety Equipment. Personnel Health and Safety. Fuel Quality and Control. Normal Operating Refuelling Procedures. "HOT" Refuelling Regulations, Operations and Procedures. Fire Safety and Prevention. Emergency Operating Procedures. Helideck Fire Fighting Knowledge and Procedures. Helideck Emergency and Rescue.
COMPETENCY:
The level of competency attained in this course is a Certificate in Helicopter Refuelling with attainment of the following units of Competency to the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF) standards in the Aviation Skills set: PUAFIR209B - Work safely around aircraft AVI1Z508B - Maintain basic situation awareness in the aviation workplace AVI3F508B - Maintain the safety of people and aircraft AVI3L308B - Plan an aircraft load AVI3W608B - Refuel aircraft AVI4J208B- Conduct quality control operations related to refuelling/de-fuelling aircraft
The course also includes the Australian civil aviation industry standard Civil Aviation Order 20.11 Appendix IV Crew member emergency procedures proficiency test and certificate which meets International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and is recognised within all ICAO contracting countries.

METHOD OF TRAINING:
The course consists of both theory and onsite practical training either on clients equipment or company equipment. Students are provided with course notes for reference during the course and for referral as required post course.
