2.0 The significance of entrepreneurship in corporate culture

Corporate Entrepreneurial Culture

From Global Remix: The fight for competitive advantage by Richard Scase
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Global-Remix-Fight-Competitive-
Advantage/dp/0749448717

Today business opportunities are in the BRIC economies –

Brazil, Russia, India and China, each of which has issues to
bear in mind in the areas of its compliance and regulatory
environment. These are regions that mean businesses will
have to reassess their risk management strategies.

They will need to be less risk averse and more imaginative

and entrepreneurial. Corporate scenario planning will be
more complex and companies will be inclined to develop
more cautious short-term investment strategies. Those
who adopt this position will not survive. The rewards
will go to the more adventurous self confident CEOs who
recognise the need for entrepreneurial corporate culture
who address the needs of local community to realise growth opportunities. Future
organisations will have to abolish operational processes based on hierarchical control
and the specialist division of operational job tasks. Cost and reward are the optimum
considerations and costs are lower in the BRIC economies.
Western companies need to develop specialised high value products and services for
the mature economy as well as identify products and services for the expanding
groups of affluent consumers in the emerging markets.

The basis for high performance and competitive advantage is leveraging creativity.
Traditional management models are inappropriate.
