ORGANIZER: YOUTH FOR EXCHANGE AND UNDERSTANDING (YEU) Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organization established in 1986 and member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels as an INGYO. YEU looks forward to increase tolerance and awareness between different countries, cultures and traditions, and to promote a greater level of comprehension through the development of various youth activities. The main aim of YEU is to promote peace, understanding and co-operation between the young people of the world, in a spirit of respect for human rights. YEU is a non-profit making, interdenominational youth organization independent of all political affiliation, run by young people for young people by means of a democratic structure. Visit our website for more details about YEU: www.yeuinternational.org MAIN IDEA OF THE ACTIVITY This training will gather together 27 youth leaders and youth workers from 25 partner organisations in order to learn how to organize local and international youth projects for disabled youngsters taking into consideration all the necessary aspects regarding working with disabled people. The idea of the training became from the experience of international youth exchange that YEU held in UK in summer 2010, involving disabled youth, where we discovered that while organizing an event for the mentioned group of youngsters certain aspects and measures must be taken into account because the needs of people with disabilities require special attention both in programme and logistics. Usually, young leaders are without previous experience in this and not aware and skilled enough to prepare, implement and follow up a youth project involving youth with different abilities. Therefore, we believe that this training course will equip the participants with necessary SKAs encouraging them to organize events for disabled youth in order to provide them the same opportunities and include them into the societies.
