Learning a New Culture

God meant it for good
While the first month went relatively smoothly, this second month has had more bumps in the road. One of the big bumps has been that the girls have been without power for four days now. While many people might see this as a bad thing, it has made us learn to rely on God for everything and has caused us to bond even more as a team. Every situation in life can be viewed from multiple perspectives, but if we view things from the correct perspective, God can use them to teach us important life lessons.

Ministry on Campus Ministry has been going well on campus. There are now three weekly meetings all at different parts of the campus. The Tuesday and Friday meetings usually have between 20-30 students that attend on a regular basis. The Thursday night meeting which just started has around 10 students. We are building a deeper relationship with these students so we can have deeper conversations with them and help them grow in their faith. We have been having a lot of spiritual conversations with students on the UASD campus and we have seen four students start to have a personal relationship with God. Despite some of us only knowing limited Spanish, God is still working in great and mighty ways. We also had a recent outreach in which the students were involved. Two hundred bags were packed with some cookies, a packet on how to know God personally, and information about our weekly meetings. We were able to have some good conversations with the students that received these goodie bags and we are praying that God will work in their hearts and guide them to the weekly meetings so they can know God better and have good fellowship with other Christians.

The STINT team with Prospero, Leyla, and some of the students Prayer Requests:

Praise: Thank God that we finally have a working internet connection, thank God for a successful outreach which over 200 students received information about VIDA and how to have a personal relationship with God Requests: Pray that the girls get electricity working again in their apartment, pray that God will raise up student leaders for the movement in the unreached parts on campus, pray for energy for the long days we have in the heat, pray for understanding in our Spanish class because the teacher only speaks Spanish, pray for peace on campus as we have experienced a few setbacks that prevented us from being on campus for a few days
