Applications
Valve installation, replacement, repairs Pipe or f itting replacement, repairs Pipeline tie-ins (on land, offshore) Rerouting process f lows Repairing pressure letdown stations Isolating pressure vessels Decommissioning pipes New construction tie-ins Installation of by-pass systems Pressure, vacuum gauge installations Quality control sample points Thermowell installations Flowmeter installations
Angle Tap
Gate Lift
Temperatures to 400F (204C) Pressures to 1,000 psig (69 bar) Temperatures to 700F (371C) Pressures to 700 psig (48 bar) A line stop, or plug off, is used to stop the f low of product once access is gained through a hot tap. The procedure enables pipelines and plant piping systems to be isolated for repairs or additions without causing an interruption in service or loss of product. Teams line stops are used extensively by petrochemical plants, ref ineries, municipal water districts, hospitals, steel mills, nuclear power plants and pipeline operating companies. Team line stops can be performed on a broad range of pipe sizes for low, medium and high pressure systems. Technicians begin by designing a customized full encirclement saddle, which eliminates pressure-bearing f illet welds and reduces potential leakage. Once the hot tap and line stop are performed, the valve is removed by installing a completion plug in Teams SealTite f lange.
Across-the-Header Stop: When clearance limitation will not allow normal line stopping methods
Teams line stop plug provides a better, safer seal on all types of pipe. Unlike other seals that rely solely on an O-ring, the SealTite metal-to-metal seal provides a more secure closure, and uses an O-ring as a backup for higher temperatures. If future access to the pipeline is ever necessary, a safe reentry and reseal can be executed through the same closure f lange.
Tee Stop: A special SealTite f itting installed on the back side of the tee
A double line stop occurs when work is needed on a larger section of a pipeline. Two SealTite f ittings are welded to the pipe and two line stop taps are completed. Once the line stops are set and the pressure is vented, repairs can take place between the two plugs. Lines stops are then equalized and removed, and Teams SealTite completion plugs are installed.
A double block and bleed is used when added security is needed. The primary line stop holds the pressure while the secondary line stop ensures a 100% safe seal. Upon completing the necessary repairs downstream of the double block, technicians seal the pipe with Teams SealTite completion plugs.
HiStop Services
Sizes 1/2 to 16 (15 mm to 406 mm) Temps to 1,100F (593C) Pressure to 2,600 psig (179 bar) Teams patented high temperature, high pressure (HTHP) Hi-Stops are used primarily to solve maintenance and engineering problems where operating conditions exceed conventional line stop ranges. Team has successfully stopped a 6-inch boiler feedwater line leaking water at a rate of 1,650 gpm and f lowing at a velocity of 22 ft/sec. The lines pressure was 2,100 psig at a temperature of 400F. Team utilizes patented techniques and equipment to achieve the most secure line stop possible in extreme circumstances. The advanced HiStop method incorporates a special HiStop f itting, and a precision cutting and reaming operation that creates a tapered hole through the pipe. The opening is then f itted with a precision-ground tapered steel plug that permits depressurizing of the systems for the necessary maintenance. A metal-to-metal seal secures the connection between the plug and the line.
The valve is installed and a tapered hole is cut through the pipe.
Super HiStop
Super HiStop f ittings are available when pressures and/or temperatures exceed conventional HiStop ranges.
A tapered steel plug provides a seal to the pipe.
A SealTite completion plug and backup O-ring are installed in the f lange.
Applications
Piping systems up to 30 (750 mm) Pressures to the rating of the pipe In close, conf ined areas with proper ventilation Three times the piping diameter away from mechanical connections Five times the diameter of the pipe away for welded connections
Requirements
Pipe materials must be suitable for freezing such as carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper and aluminum Line must be full of liquid and have no f low Process liquid freeze point must be evaluated prior to freezing
Changes in diameter Presence of unsuitable valves (reduced orif ice plug valves) Tight or mitered bends (less than three diameters) Low operating pressure Low f low or absence of f low Lack of launching and receiving facilities Dented or collapsed areas Excessive debris or scale build-up Typical launch and receive stations are a large investment in piping and facilities with little payback. They require a large permanent footprint with possible land acquisition and require ongoing maintenance of the facilities. The Team Pipeline Pigging Wye can help eliminate the challenges associated with traditional pigging operations.
Teams patented InsertValve delivers value, reliability and performance second to none. This f ield proven valve installs under pressure, eliminating the need for line shut downs in the event of planned or emergency valve cut-ins.
Designed for a wide range of line sizes and types, the InsertValves wedge gate seats on the valve body, not the pipe bottom. This unique feature prevents the seat from coming into contact with the cut pipe edges to signif icantly extend valve life. If a repair is ever needed, it is the only valve on the market that can be repaired under pressure. Team offers professional installation services by trained and certif ied technicians or packaged solutions ready for line cut-in. Either way, you get a valve that meets or exceeds recognized industry requirements and complies with all health and safety regulations.
Team has led the industry in the delivery of safe, effective wet taps and line stops for more than 35 years. Using the latest technology, Team provides wet taps and line stops for virtually any onstream line. Fittings and services are available for all types of pipe materials and diameters. Wet taps, line stops, freeze stops, concrete wall taps ... Team delivers 24/7/365.

Highly effective in f luctuating temperatures and pressures, Teams bolt-on hot tap and line stop f ittings are designed for use with critical service for extended periods. No welding is required for a secure attachment, and the f ittings can be used to reenter the line in the future. Teams bolt-on f ittings are readily available with 150#, 300# and 600# ANSI rated f langes. Custom-manufactured options for any size, shape, pressure, temperature, process or material are also available upon request.
Thermowell installation
The HTS Thermolet is a simplif ied device developed by Team engineers specif ically for the installation of thermowells, annubars and similar instruments onto a pipe or vessel while at operating temperature and pressure. The use of the Thermolet simplif ies and speeds up welding and hot tapping operations, ultimately saving time and money. Thermolets innovative design eliminates the need for special alignment procedures when it is welded onto the line or vessel. Once in place, specialized Team HTS equipment is used to set the Thermowell and tap into the line. The same techniques can be used to install coupon holders, hydrogen probes, electronic probes, f low meters and product injectors.
