HEALTHY NABJ
Healthy NABJ, launched in 2009, has evolved into a key component of NABJs annual convention. The Healthy NABJ programming track at the annual NABJ convention provides information to help NABJ members make wise health choices for themselves while improving the quality of critical information they disseminate to their broader audiences in a nation struggling with a plethora of health issues. The Healthy NABJ booths in the exhibit hall provide an opportunity for journalists to interact with, and receive information from, health leaders in the pubic and private sectors. Health screenings are also offered in several booths.
The NABJ Media Institute offers quality webinars and hands on professional development sessions, entrepreneurial guidance and technical training for journalists, public relations professionals, and students at national and regional conferences held throughout the country. Many of the events that examine cutting-edge topics impacting African American communities are also open to the public. The Media Institute also teaches, compiles, disseminates and chronicles information about African Americans in the field of journalism, and acts as a clearinghouse for information to entities interested in the media and establishing a connection with black journalists and public relation professionals.
