Job Stress = 24 Performance = 30 Employee =10

Introduction People now days are experiencing stress. Especially to the people who are engaged in really tiring work and activities. Because of the changing world the second most prevalent type of work-related ill-health after muscular-skeletal disorders is the stress, depression and anxiety because of the

work load and it took the average people of having 28.5 days off work per year. (Edwards, Guppy and Cockerton, 2007). Stress is a part of well being of a employee, they cannot hide to the fact of job stress and it has a big role to predict the employees performance (Shimatzu and Schaufeli, 2007). Some studies proved that job stress came from the perception of the individual employee in their work pressure (Yu-Chi Wu, 2011). Many companies are high tech to determine everything about their employees. They may have CCTV cameras and biometrics as well. Performance of employees can predict by any aptitude test (Perina, 2011). Employees may sometimes perform well in their jobs and doesnt have job stress if they are emotionally committed in their work (Cai-feng, 2010). But most of the time employees sometimes dont hide their stress in their work because of emotional demands, but engaging in teamwork may lead it to lessen the job stress. (Gevers, Erven, and Maas, 2010). For the stressful environment in todays time specially in the people who works in the city, its hard to cope from the stress in their own jobs but somehow adaptation and assimilation may help to cope their job stress (Hancock, 2009)

The company employees shows job stress in their work, but seeing the job stress as predictor in their performance may help and make employees realize the part of job stress may have in their performance. As stated, this paper will discuss about job stress as predictors of employees performance Context of Current Research and Hypotheses In the most recent studies, job stress has moderate effect to the performance of the employees. But all we knew that employees has different work load. It depends on the companys daily process. In the context of the company today that they need to be more competitive, they need also a competitive employee that has a great performance to fulfill the companys needs. The researcher wants to know the how job stress predicts the employees performance. It is the researcher wants to see how employees let their job stress be part of their performance and what is the knowledge of the company owners to the job stress that their employees performance have.

A company that has high work load and has different activities will be chosen, it will be the Bank of the Philippines Islands (Main Office) because the employees are really exposed to the work that needs to be more competent and needs to be more productive. Performances of the employees are really exposed to the job stress and it has a big position to the performance of employees (Feddock, Hoellein, and Wilson, 2007) Moreover, company management will also be part of the study to verify if how their employees can handle the job stress. Employees are exposed to job stress; its a part of their daily life. Job stress may function as motivators and also be a part of dissatisfaction to the performance (Wallgren and Hanse, 2010) A. Knowledge of employee on job stress as it predicts performance This study is anchored of the prediction of job stress to the employees performance. Job stress can predict the employee in their performance, it predicts them to be more productive because they may take it as a positive side and help them to learn more about their job. But too much job stress may predict to the employees performance to also slows down productivity and may need them to counsel and to have stress reduction workshop (Ilesanmi etal, 2010). Employees may be aware of the stress that they are experiencing and may not want to perform well in their work, because most of the time, employees may intended to leave or more often absent because of the job stress they are encountering (Staufenbie and Konig, 2010). Job stress may come in work load, work events, client factors, and bosses. In the study of Yu-Fen Chen (2009) he stated that the higher job stress led to lower job performance and vice versa. That the more stress they may have it predict to a poor performance of the employees, they may not do their job if they are encountering high job stress. In the study of Edwards, Guppy and Cockerton (2007), they job stress has a big impact and can influence the performance of employees through their qualitative study. They prove that a job stress can predict In this current study, because of the claims of the past study of the prediction of job stress to the employees performance, the researcher wants to prove and to explore more of how job

stress predicts employees performance. The result of this study will enlighten the employees of what job stress may be do of their performance. B. Knowledge of company management to the job stress that their employees had In the evolving world today, many companies were competitive. Management really manages their employees and hands on to their work. In this field, strategies are really important to ride with the competition (Gondim, Palacio, and Andrade, 2011). As the management competes, the employees level of job stress gets higher, (Taris and Schreurs, 2009). In this study, company management will just a help to the researcher of the information they know on the job stress of their employees into their performance, The information that will gather to the company management will be part of the study and will shed light of what job stress may be part to the employees performance. Hypothesis H1: Job stress can predict a positive and negative performance to the employees. H2: Employees perceived the prediction of job stress as their motivator to have a high performance. H3: Job stress predicts employees to have an intention to leave. H4: Job stress is a first predictor of having a low productivity to the performance of employees. H5: Job stress may predict distraction to the employees performance.

Methods A. Participants In study, the researcher will ask thirty employees in BPI Main Office because they have different activities and have a high work load; they will form a small group and discuss their knowledge about job stress as predictors in the employees performance on how they perform in their works. They will also answer a survey form about the job stress and job performance. For the additional information only, the company

management will also be gather and ask some interviews to discuss their knowledge of how their employees handle their stress and its characteristics it has that may influences their employees performance. B. Measures The study is qualitative so the statements of the employees and company management will serve as the corpus of data. The information that will be gather will guide the researcher in naming the prediction of the job stress to the employees performance. The questionnaire that will be used is the Job Stress Survey that was designed to assess generic sources of work-related stress experienced by men and women in a wide variety of business, industrial and educational settings. It can help you compare stress levels among employees in different departments or divisions within the same organization.
