For 3800 model, listed as "Wireless Network Key:" c. For Mac OS X users, you may need to enter the "$" character at the beginning of the encryption key (for example, $4119627022).

Connecting the U-verse Receiver to your HDTV?

Connecting with HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)

This is used mainly for HD connection between the Motorola Receiver and a TV set that has HDMI input. This works also for SD content. This is an uncompressed digital audio/video interface. HDMI is the interface of choice for most new HD Audio/Visual (A/V) devices. Not only does it provide outstanding audio and video performance, but it also supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), a technology built into consumer electronic equipment that prevents illicit duplication of copyrighted material. When connecting to an HDTV set: o Change the Aspect Ratio. o Ensure you set your Receiver to either 1080i or 720p. o Ensure you go through the TV menu and select an HD resolution (720p or 1080i). o A Blue LED on the front of the Receiver indicates that an HD resolution is selected. Please Note: Regardless of how the Receiver is connected to the HDTV set (HDMI or Component), when the Receiver resolution is set to 1080i or 720p, all the other Video outputs (i.e., Composite, S-Video, RF) are disabled.

Connecting Component Output (Pb, Pr, Y for Video and L/R or Optical Audio Connections)

Pr (red), Pb (blue) are color components and Y (green) is the Black & White (B&W) part of the video. You will need an audio connection - a Left/Right audio or optical audio connection. If HDMI is not available in the TV, use component for HD connection. This component can also be used for SD connection to SD TV sets.

Please Note: Regardless of how the Receiver is connected to the HDTV set (HDMI or Component), when the Receiver resolution is set to 1080i or 720p, all the other Video outputs (i.e., Composite, S-Video, RF) are disabled.

Troubleshooting AT&T U-verse Service

Many common U-verse problems can be solved by rebooting your AT&T U-verse Residential Gateway or rebooting your AT&T U-verse receivers (set top boxes). If you're having trouble with Internet, U-verse Voice, or all of your TVs, reboot your residential gateway. Note: Any recordings in progress will be stopped during this reboot. 1. 2. 3. Unplug the black power cord from the back of the residential gateway. Leave the residential gateway unplugged for 15 seconds. Wait 2 minutes, then re-try what you want to do.

If some - but not all - of your TVs are having trouble, reboot your receiver. Note: If this receiver also houses your DVR, any recordings in progress will be lost during this reboot. 1. 2. 3. Push in and hold the rectangular power button on the receiver wired to the TV. Hold the button for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, release the button. Wait 2 minutes, then re-try what you want to do.
