 experience

i have mainly managerial experience, as i believe that i am a natural leader and my superiors have seen this quality
within me. i worked at mcdonalds for a few years and was put forward for promotion. i really enjoyed my time at
mcdonald’s, as it taught my excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills. for me what i found
most rewarding was the attitude of my co-workers towards me. they knew that i wouldn’t ask them to do a job that i
wasn’t prepared to do, and they knew i wouldn’t sit in the office all day long, and if the floor needed scrubbing, i got
down and scrubbed it with them.

after this i moved to preston and worked within the warehouse section of a next clothing store, i was offered the
possibility of management there but decided not to take the opportunity as the pay didn’t reflect the workload.
i then left and went to work as a store room manager at republic clothing in blackburn. i loved my time at republic,
as i was given a proper position of authority and recognized for my work. when i left the store manager turned to me
and told me if i ever needed a job, only to ring and ask, this pleased me greatly as i knew i had done a really good
job.

i left republic to go and work for a timeshare company called club greece, which was very difficult, not just the job
but adapting to living and working within a completely different country. i wasn’t a natural salesmen to begin with,
but i used my greatest strength which is honesty to sell the product, i left with a 35% closing sales percentage, but to
this i think is my greatest strength, i think on my feet and can adapt myself to any given situation, even 3000 miles
away in the sun!

i have spent the christmas period working at thornton’s corporate as temp. i really feel like i have found a job that
suits me and my experience. i have worked in ‘’sales’’ positions before, but found that they do not suit me at all,
purely because of the nature of the sales environments and the ethics of previous companies that i have worked for.

whereas with thornton’s i feel i could really make a difference to the company and hopefully build myself a career
within the company.i am now an experienced salesperson, i understand the psychology of selling, i am creative,
bright, committed and dedicated to meeting goals and achieving success.

interests and hobbies

i love socializing with people, and love to be the center of the party. after i left the timeshare company in rhodes, i
decided to stay on the island and dj in a bar and club, i only planned on staying a few weeks which turned into
3years. music has always been my passion and i’ve been stomping holes in hard trance nightclub floors since i was
16years old.

i have a broad range of friends, from working abroad i now have friends from all over the world, and this i think
highlights my friendly nature, especially when some of my friends do not speak english!

i am very adept at using computers, i can program in html and java and in my own time build computer game
models, animations and levels for games such as quake and half-life 2.

personal statement

i enjoyed being a manager and gained a lot of good experience in many different area’s, i left the country to go
traveling and now want to settle into a good job that has good prospects. i work well under pressure as well as part of
a team or on my own. i have good experience of working within an office, and have experience in general office
tasks, including advanced databases using excel and access, and full knowledge of most microsoft applications.

i have worked in a few managerial positions and enjoyed management above all places of employment. i am also a
skilled it technician and also build / repair and sell computers for people. i have built websites for a ltd company
before as well as regular maintenance of their machines. i am trained in using epos systems and internal intranets.

i have an enormous amount of pride, drive & ambition. i always try to do any job i am given to the best of
my abilities. even though i have worked in some places where people frown upon you, to me this is just trivial, i do a
job regardless of what job it is, to the best of my ability, and given the right job, if i were to be paid for something i
enjoyed, i would consider myself very lucky.
