JOHN FRIEDA HAIR TRANSFORMATION 2011 TERMS & CONDITIONS 1. 2. 3.

The competition is open to female residents of the Republic of Ireland aged 18 or over, excluding employees of the Promoter, their families and agents. Entrants must be available to travel to Dublin on Tuesday 8th November 2011. To enter, email transformation@johnfrieda.ie with your "transformation story" (no more than 300 words) detailing a life transformation that has happened to you, together with a recent photograph of yourself that clearly shows your hair type (colour, length, style etc.). Only one entry per person. There are 3 categories of transformation stories that can be entered: i. Business or Work transformation stories - those who have started successful businesses, used job loss or redundancy to their advantage, transforming their working lives and career success; Health transformation stories - those who have dealt with personal ill health, or caring for somebody with ill health. How diagnosis &/or recovery has transformed their lives for the better; or Life transformation stories - those, who after an event / encounter / episode in their lives, have changed their outlook and values in a positive way

To be accepted as a valid entry, the transformation story must not, nor be likely to (in the Promoter's sole opinion): (i) include material which is obscene, defamatory, blasphemous, offensive or untruthful; (ii) promote or incite racial or religious hatred or any other form of hatred, violence, aggression or discrimination; (iii) be likely to infringe any copyright, right of privacy, right of publicity, moral right or any other right whatsoever of any third party; or (iv) be illegal or promoting any illegal activities. CLOSING DATE: All entries must be received by Wednesday 26th October 2011. No responsibility is accepted for email entries which are not received by the Promoter for any technical reasons. Up to 15 entrants whose transformation stories, in the judges' opinion, show the most positive turnarounds in the lives of the entrants and are the most life affirming (the Finalists) will each win a hair transformation experience at the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day on Tuesday 8th November 2011 from 10a.m. 5p.m. The prize will include a hair consultation with a John Frieda stylist and hair styling (wash, treatment, blow-dry, styling and if recommended cutting). The panel of judges selecting the Finalists will consist of a representative of the Promoter, Jake Davis (Stylist, John Frieda) and Rose McMeel (Beauty Editor, Stellar Magazine). Finalists will be selected no later than Tuesday, 1st November 2011 and will be notified by email by Thursday 3rd November 2011. The judges decision in relation to selection of the Finalists is final and no correspondence will be entered into. All entries will be judged using the same criteria listed in Condition 7, regardless of the category of transformation story submitted. The panel of judges reserves the right to select less than 15 Finalists to attend the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day, where the standard of entries received is not of sufficient quality.

Following their John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day experience, details of the Finalists, including their "transformation story" and photographs (taken before and after their Dublin Hair Transformation experience), will be uploaded on the John Frieda Ireland Facebook page. Visitors to the John Frieda Facebook page between [Thursday 1st December 2011 and Wednesday 28th February 2012] (Voting Period) can vote for the Finalist who they believe has undergone the most life affirming transformation. Following the John Frieda Facebook Voting Period, the panel of judges will select one overall winner from the Finalists (based on the number of votes that entrant has received on Facebook, combined with the judges' assessment of who has undergone the most life affirming transformation). This prizewinner will win a further Hair Transformation day trip to London, including return economy flights for one adult, transfers to and from the airport to the John Frieda London salon, lunch and a complete Hair Transformation with a John Frieda stylist for the winner only. The London trip must be taken by the winner during March 2012, subject to flight and salon appointment availability. Prizes are as stated, are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award alternative prizes of equal or greater value, should the advertised prizes (or any part of them) become unavailable for any reason. Details of the Finalists and overall prizewinner (names and counties) will be made available for 4 weeks after 1st December 2011 by sending a S.A.E to [John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation 2011 Winners] at the [Promoter's address below]. Prizewinners' will be responsible for their own transport to and from the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day. The overall winner of the John Frieda London Hair Transformation day trip will be responsible for all expenses associated with taking the prize except those listed in Condition 11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, expense or liability arising as a result of a Finalist attending the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day, or the overall winner taking the John Frieda London Hair Transformation trip. By entering the competition the Finalists agree to participate in such promotional activity as the Promoter may require for up to 6 months following the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day. Finalists acknowledge that photographs & video footage might be taken by the Promoter during the John Frieda Dublin Hair Transformation Day (and of the overall winner during the John Frieda London Hair Transformation trip), and any such photographs/ video content will be the property of the Promoter which may be used in promotional, publicity and marketing activity and material, in print, broadcast and digital formats, including on John Friedas Facebook page. By entering the competition and confirming online that they have agreed to these conditions of entry, entrants agree that: (a) if chosen as a Finalist, their entry will be featured on the John Frieda Facebook page; (b) if they are chosen as a Finalist, their entry will be the property of the Promoter and they will, at the request of the Promoter, assign all intellectual property rights subsisting in such entry to the Promoter (and, to the extent possible, approving these conditions of entry by ticking the box at the bottom of the online form will operate as an assignment of current intellectual property rights in the entry and also as an assignment of future intellectual property rights in the entry); (c) their entry is not copied from anyone else's work and that their entry is their sole and original work; (d) that their entry has not previously been published, printed, marketed or reproduced by any third parties and is not the subject of any trade mark or design right application or registration; (e) if they are chosen as a Finalist, they hereby waive all moral and similar rights in their entry to the fullest extent possible; (f) if they are chosen as a Finalist, they will have no rights in their entry whatsoever and the Promoter will be free to make use of

-3the entry in any manner it chooses (although the Promoter will not be obliged to make any use of the entry whatsoever), in whatever media (whether now known or invented in the future) throughout the world and that they will have no claim against the Promoter for any such use and will not be entitled to any income or compensation in connection with the Promoter's use of the entry; (g) they will provide all additional consents, assignments and waivers (written or otherwise) requested by the Promoter to give legal effect to this Condition; and (h) failure to provide the relevant consents, assignments or waivers requested by the Promoter may result in their disqualification as a winner, in which case the Promoter shall have the right to select an alternative competition winner in their place. 17. 18. 19. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or temporarily suspend the Promotion in the event of any unforeseen circumstance outside its reasonable control.
