RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter discussed the subject of the study, the research design, and
instruments to be used in manipulating the data, and the statistical tools in interpreting
the data.
The respondents of this study were the Grade V pupils of Mahayahay Elementary
divided the class into two sections. We obtain this by drawing lots to avoid bias. Section

Instruments Used
The researchers were construct two questionnaires. One is the test on Plants
which were given as both the pre-test and the post-test in order to gather the information
and to manipulate the data. The posttest will be divided into three according to the topic
it belongs and will be given every after the lesson. This is researcher-made test based on
the topic Plants and it subtopics. Another is the Perception Questionnaire. This is also
researcher-made test.

In addition, the teacher will develop a PowerPoint presentation with the topic
Plants and its subtopics. In order to have a good presentation a rubric is also made by the
In gathering the information and the data needed, section 1A will be subjected to
lecture method and the section 1B will be subjected to multimedia presentation. The pre-
test and post-test help to determine the change of students before and after they are
exposed to the approach they belong, the multimedia presentation and the lecture
method.
After the researchers administered the test, they then collected and start the
tabulation of data. The scores of each group will be tabulated separately. The Mean will

To test the significant difference of the performances between the lecture and
multimedia approach, the researchers were using the two-tailed T-test for paired
