Good day! The Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines-Iloilo Chapter (MTAP-IC) will hold its 3rd Regional Convention on October 28-29, 2011 at Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iznart Street, Iloilo City. The convention is intended for elementary, secondary, and tertiary mathematics teachers and enthusiasts in the region. Centered on the theme Revolutionizing Mathematics Education, the convention includes the inter-tertiary mathematics quiz bee, plenary sessions, research presentations, and general assembly. Specifically, it has the following objectives: 1. build a competitive mathematics culture among college students through the inter-tertiary quiz bee; 2. update mathematics educators on innovations and trends in teaching mathematics; 3. create a venue for sharing effective mathematics teaching practices, materials, and methods; 4. update mathematics teachers with the MTAP-IC activities; and 5. elect MTAP-IC board of directors A registration fee of Php2600 will be collected from the participants to cover expenses for food, certificates, and trainers fees. We will be highly grateful for your endorsement of this activity among the mathematics teachers and pre-service teachers in your College. The deposit slip with the participants name will be presented to the registration committee on October 28 or may be scanned or emailed to mtapiloilo@yahooo.com.
