of India

Chief Minister Narendra Modi today released the book Bharat Nu Samvidhan. The book is the Gujarati version of the Constitution of India. This one is the fourth edition of the book and is published by the states Parliamentary Affairs and Legal department. Law Minister Dilip Sanghani, Minister of State for Law Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary A K Joti, Secretary to Law Mr. Goti and officials of Parliamentary Affairs department were present on the occasion. The fourth edition has been published after a gap of 17 years and all the amendments made in the constitution during this time have been incorporated in the book. Chief Minister exuded faith that the effort of publishing the Indian Constitution in the local language will prove helpful to the people in understanding the laws of the nation and in conveying the inbuilt spirit of the Constitution. The book includes all the amendments till the 95th one in 2009. The book is available to public through all government book sellers.

Narendra Modi exhorts Gujarati entrepreneurs to buy diamond mines abroad, create global brands Even as Gujarats diamond and gems industry holds a place of pride in the world, Chief Minister Narendra Modi today exhorted Gujarati entrepreneurs to buy diamond mines abroad and create global brands. If Gujaratis decide, they could change the world, he said. Presenting the awards to successful entrepreneurs at a function in Surat under the aegis of Gujarat Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), he regretted that the domestic diamond industry has to depend on foreign countries still for the raw materials. It would be in fitness of things for the Gujarati entrepreneurs to combine their traditional skill with modern techniques, and own the diamond mines to establish their dominance. He recalled how Gujarati entrepreneurs were buying coalfields abroad. The Chief Minister stressed on the need to start appropriate courses to enhance the skills of diamond cutters and polishers, as per the needs of the industry. The Gujarat Government proposed to start a number of skill development courses, as part of Swami Vivekanands 150th anniversary in January 2011 being observed as Yuvashakti Varsh. However, he said, this called for the Central Government change its attitude and reform its policies to encourage entrepreneurship in this specific field. He wondered as to why the Centre created obstacle to start flight from Surat. To take things to higher level and value-addition, Mr. Modi said that Gujarat diamond and Morbis clock industries are known to be the States two success stories. The two can well combine to design and develop diamond watches. Any industry needs new things any moment. He also suggested documenting Indias diamond and jewelry industrys growth story.

Chief Minister lays foundation stone for new educational complex of Gujarat Forensic Science University

Chief Minister Narendra Modi while laying foundation stone for the new educational complex of Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) today said the state government will use forensic science technology to save the village people from becoming the victims of frauds like fake fertilizers, seeds, bogus land documents and embezzlement of money.Chief Minister said the state government has allotted a land of 50,000 square meters for the new complex of Forensic Science University and it will be constructed with the cost of Rs.60 crore. He praised the University for launching world-class courses in the span of just four years and getting the acclamation of a Centre of Excellence. Gujarat started a specific university for the subject of forensic science at the time when no country had even thought of it. Today, GFSU is running post-graduate courses and over 400 youths are getting training to become forensic science experts which also include 45 percent of candidates from out states. Besides, about 10,000 personnel including judges, police and security agency officials have also been trained by the university.Chief Minister said the scope of forensic science technology will not be limited to police or judicial probes only but the GFSU will also focus on crime prevention along with crime detection. The world of crime has adopted modern technologies and with it forensic science technology has also played a crucial role in solving complicated cases of crimes, he added.
