Concept Paper The company Two years ago, I was looking for a bilingual English- French day care and couldnt find any in the Portland area. I encountered a few Asian day care centers but not a French one. Being a mother and knowing the benefits of learning a second language thought that it was a great idea to open a day care. I love children and have a lifetime of childcare experience.I am dedicated in teaching French as a second language to my child and our children. The day care will focus on child-directed- play-based prospectus with a strong emphasis on art, music and movement. The day care will be named Les ptits Coccinellesand will be a certified non-profit bilingual English -French day care learning center and a second home for children. It will serve from six weeks to six years. Our goal will be to reassure parents with a peace of mind about their children well-being and safety during the day. The facility is going to be a long term business and we aim to prepare our student for the transition to get in the French school In souwestwest Portland. The facility will be located in the earth of North east Portland because there is a huge community of African immigrants residing in that area.

2) The product and services Les Coccinelles will encourage children to speak French so that they can be more fluent and will use a variety of educational approaches in order to get them

more accutomized and comfortable about hearing a new language.Les ptits Coccinelles will be an eco-healthy child care center that will serve nutritious meals with organic fruits and vegetables that will be directly prepared fresh from our kitchen. Our play rooms will feature a variety of arts, crafts, dance, theater and gymnastic. We will provide fun, safe healthy and secure environments with nontoxic materials, healthy cleaning products and educational toys for the well-being of the children. We will teach the children to care for the world that in turn cares for them. The Daycare will start with three classes. Our teachers will make a difference not only by guiding the children with a day full of learning opportunities but offering them also lots of creative influences. Our teachers will be certified with the state of Oregon, will have to pass a criminal background check, and will require having a food handler, first aid and CPR cards. Les ptits Coccinelles teachers will have a professional dress code with a uniform so that they can be easily identified as members of the staff at any time.

Les ptits Coccinelles will compete well in the market by offering competitive prices, high quality services and will maintain an excellent reputation in Portland. We have chosen to be located in the heart of North-East Portland because of the outgrowing number of immigrants residing there and we have learned that most of their children loose the faculty to speak a second language because of non-practice. According to the survey we have conducted, 90% of the immigrants agreed about it and 60% of the Portlanders said that: It is a good idea to have such a day care in the community. A child care center is mostly quite competitive everywhere in the United States, but we will make sure that les ptits Coccinelles go beyond academics to promote

social, emotional development, creativity and positive approaches about learning and encouraging children playfulness . Unlike our competitors, we will offer creative activities, advanced technology programs that will allow children to learn through experimentation and exploration while encouraging development of higher order thinking skills and lots of field trip will be organized giving parents the opportunity to volunteer to take their children with them if they wish to do so and finally, we will complete the school year with a graduation and diploma and a fun- filled party that will always be remembered. This is a day care plan that targets not only French immigrant but everyone that is interested about introducing a second language to their children .Our target customers are dual income, middle class families who value the quality of education and the care we provide to their children. Whether driving or not our facility will be located in a very convenient place so that those who dont drive wont have to struggle with transport. The Day car tart-up capital of 30,000 $ will be some personal savings along

with an SBA 5-year guaranteed loan.
