Submission to the General Manager
Subject Purchase of two C-class blade servers
Purpose To request that the General Manager approve the procurement of
two additional C-class blade servers for the production support
landscape for the Queensland Health Rostering and Payroll
Solution in readiness for go-live
Background
The Queensland Health Implementation of Continuity (QHIC) project is introdUcing a
replacement payroll solution for Queensland Health.
To allow CorpTech to support the Queensland Health ECC5 Production system at go-live
on 20 November 2009, CorpTech need to determine what the environment landscape will
need to be at go-live and beyond.
The QHIC Release and Production Support Landscape Options Paper (refer to Attachment
1) details the options of what the support landscape will be at QHIC go-live and then
afterwards for support by CorpTech and IBM.
The preferred option requires that two C-class blade servers, for a production support test
environment for the Workbrain application, batch and report servers, be provisioned. This
offers the best option as it ensures production changes will be developed, tested and
migrated into production and protect the release landscape and ultimately production.
Issues
In order to build the landscape for the required production support" and production support
test" environments, it is necessary to provision two C-class blade servers. The two C-class
blade servers are required to be implemented by 9 November 2009 and will be located at
317 Edward Street.
If the additional C-class blades are not provisioned this will impact on the ability of the
CorpTech support teams to effectively manage and support Queensland Health Rostering
and Payroll Solution during go-live.
Current Status
A quotation for the additional capacity has been provided by CITEC (refer to Attachment 2).

Costs - Ongoing
The ongoing capacity costs are for a 36 month commitment. Please see the table below.
Costs for the additional capacity will be charged monthly to Queensland Health on a straight
pass through basis.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the General Manager:
1. Approve the procurement of two additional C-class blades for the production support"
and "production support" environments for the Queensland Health Rostering and Payroll
Solution in readiness for go-live.
2. Accept and sign the quotation from CITEC (refer to Attachment 2) for the provisioning
of two additional C-class blades for the "production support" and "production support
tesf environments.

Submission to the General Manager
Subject Purchase of AMIS and Websphere monitoring toolset for
Workbrain
Purpose To request that the General Manager approve the procurement of
AMIS and Websphere monitoring toolset for Workbrain for the
Queensland Health Rostering and Payroll Solution in readiness
forgo-live
Background
The Queensland Health Implementation of Continuity (QHIC) project is introducing a
replacement payroll solution for Queensland Health.
To allow CorpTech to support the Queensland Health ECCS Production system at go-live,
CorpTech identified a requirement for the implementation of a monitoring toolset on the
AMIS and Workbrain environments.
This requirement requires a monitoring toolset be enabled for both the Workbrain Websphere
and AMIS Progress Database software. This monitoring toolset will be installed in the
production and non-production environment consisting of five servers in total.
Issues
In order to provide the required monitoring toolset for CorpTech's Workbrain and AMIS
environments to support the Queensland Health ECCS Production system at go-live,
CorpTech requires the Websphere and Progress Database Software be configured for
monitoring and to pass alerts/messages to rostered staff via CITEC's HP Integrated Service
Management (ISM) Solution.
If the monitoring toolset is not procured, this will impact on the ability of the CorpTech support
teams to effectively manage and support Queensland Health Rostering and Payroll Solution
post go-live.
