Guidelines For

SUMMER TRAINIG PROJECT REPORT

(For the students of MBA)


1Consult your Guide from time to time, as well as whenever necessary,

carry out changes suggested by your guide and then proceed for next step.
1Do take signatures of your project guide as required on your progress

report sheet.
1Work regularly with commitment and ensure you are following Project

Report Activity Completion Schedule and avoid last minutes hustle.

Prescribed Cover Page and Guidelines The cover page must be hard bound in Black Color with Gold Embossing. The student, roll no., class & batch no. must be written on the spine of your project report. The size of the report would depend on the project undertaken. However it must be 70 to 110 typed pages (1.5 space) on A4 size paper. All the students are required to use the uniform font and format i.e. Times New Roman of font size 12 in the text (except in heading and subheadings) through out the text of the report. The project report must accompany a certificate authenticating the originality of the work done in the prescribed format.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TYPING / PRINTING


The project report should be strictly prepared according to the following guidelines.

Finalization of the Project Report

Student should obtain clearance from their respective guide before final printing of the final project report.

Paper

The size of the Paper sheet: A4 Typing should be done on one side of the paper.

Font

Type: New Times Roman, Size: 12

Line Spacing

Body of the text: 1.5 lines List of tables/ graphs/charts/bibliography: Single line

Alignment

Title page: Centre Chapter heading: Centre Sub heading: Left

Body of text: Justify

Margins

At the binding edge (Left): not less than 3 cm Other margins (Right, Top, Bottom): not less than 2 cm.

Titles

All titles and subtitles should be printed in BOLD. All the Tables/ Graphs /Charts should have appropriate titles.

Numbering of the Table / Graph/ Charts


Table /Graph/ Charts should be numbered in the following fashion. Second table / Graph/ Chart in Second Chapter should be numbered as Table /Graph/Chart No 2.02 where first digit stands for Chapter No. and digits after (.) period stand for Number of Table / Graph / Charts in that chapter. Same numbering system should be followed for other chapters. Table /Graph /Charts must be followed by proper explanation and analysis.

Pagination (Page numbers):


The Title page should not carry any page number. For initial pages, (i.e. from Students Declaration to Executive Summary) numbers should be given in small Roman Numbers.P (Like i, ii, iii, iv, etc.)

Report should contain main page numbers (i.e. 1, 2 ) after Executive Summary. Main page numbers should start from first page of Chapter No. 1 and will continue until last page of the report. Page numbers are to be given at the center of bottom of the page. Pages separating Chapters should not be numbered but be counted.

Binding of the report


The project should be hard bound with golden embossing as per the standard format Number of Copies to be prepared 3 Hard copies, one on Bond paper is compulsory. Each student is also required to make a copy of project in CD and submit along with his/her project report. Before submission: Students must sign Declaration and Acknowledgment before putting for the Signature of the Guide .

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY(For Guideline)


I have completed this project titled TERRORIST ATTACK: ITS IMPACT ON INDIAN TOURISM after an in-depth analysis of tourism industry and consequences of terrorism on it. In this project I have studied the major terrorist attacks in the past and how world has been suffering from it for a long period of time. I have discussed how these attacks have had serious Social and Economic implications. I did a primary data collection through Questionnaires covering the sample of 29 foreign tourists. In that I collected their views about how they feel touring in India, their likings and dislikings, and the effect of terrorism on their perception towards India as a tourist destination. In this report I have studied the series of terrorist incidents in India and their short and long term effect on tourism of India. I have also interpreted this effect in terms of foreign exchange changes. I have also shown the tourist inflow for

the past two year (oct-07 to jan-08 and oct-08 to jan09) and interpreted its fall. I have also shown various types of tourism being followed in India viz. Medical, Adventure tourism, wildlife tourism, pilgrimage tourism, eco tourism, cultural tourism, and heritage tourism. I have stated what is the Psychology of the European or Us tourists and what are the factors holding them back from visiting India The Indian government has taken some initiatives to boost tourist inflow like Incredible India Program, Bed & Breakfast and Buy 2 get 1 free. I have given a brief about them and how these programs have helped tourism in India. I have shown how the recent terrorist attacks in India (Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai) have had a negative impact on tourism. I concluded that there was not much effect of terrorism on tourism; rather, the slump is due to the recession in the western countries. The terrorist attacks usually have a short to medium term impact.

Guidelines for Presentation


There are some general rules of presentation which should be adopted by the students while presenting their presentations. The guidelines and sequence are as follows:

1. The first slide should contain the topic, name of student and his/her enrollment number 2. Brief introduction of Industry, Company and topic 3. The objectives of the study 4. The Research Methodology in brief like,

Remember that the audience should listen to you, not read the screen. Write just enough to remind yourself of what you should say. 2. Limit the use of clip art: It is

recommended that you use images that might be more directly related to your presentation, such as logos instead of using clip arts or irrelevant images. 3. Be quick fingered: Dont take much time to show the next slide or text 4. Less use of sounds effects with animations. 5. Tables, Pie-Charts, Bar Diagrams: Incorporate and Tables, Pie-Charts, of your Bar study Diagrams, etc to show major analysis interpretations however there should not be many slides of the same in PPT. 6. Rehearse: Rehearse your presentation at least twice. Note: The essential thing to remember when delivering a PowerPoint presentation is to use PowerPoint slides as an aid to your

presentation and not the foundation of the talk. The idea is to keep the attention on you and to use a slide to demonstrate important data or information without breaking the flow of your presentation, distracting your audience.
