F001 Create a general journal entry

General Ledger > Journals > General journal Step 1: Type <Ctrl-N> to create a new journal. Choose from dropdown list a Journal For example select JV (Journal Voucher)

Step 2: Click on Lines button and enter the following information. Field Account Type Account Transaction text Debit CTRL+N Field Account type Account Credit Value Ledger 11010101 50,000 Cash on Hand Comments Value Ledger 52020103 Payment 50,000.00 Interest Exp. Comments

Step 3: Click on the Validate button and select Validate option to make sure that the transaction is correct

Now the accounting manager will review the journal then approve the journal by: Step 4: Click Approval >> Reported a ready Step 5: Click Approval >> Approve

Step 6: Click on the Post button and select Post option

Step 7: Verify posting in the general ledger. Go to the chart of accounts for Interest Expense (52020103). Click on Transactions button.

Step 8: Click Voucher button
