About Us:
Kathryn S. McWhorter Elementary, home of the Howling Coyotes, opened its doors for the first time in August 2001. Last year, McWhorter celebrated its 10 year anniversary. We are a Professional Learning Community that is leading the pack with a focus on Learning, a focus on Collaboration, and a focus on Results. We provide a variety of programs designed to meet each student's unique needs. We provide a differentiated curriculum for all Gifted and Talented students and a quality Bilingual/ESL (English as a Second Language) program for our second language learners. In addition, our Special Education program includes PPCD, Kindergarten for Children with Disabilities, Content Mastery, and Resource. We have a great support staff that includes Instructional Coaches, Instructional Facilitators and a Counselor.

District Goal:
The goal of the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is high achievement for all students.

Service & Character Initiatives:

Our students participate weekly in "R-Time", a relationship building program that helps students make right choices. Our students are in charge of our Green Team and Watt Watchers programs. They have donated to the Dallas Homeless Shelter and to a local church group, which helped members of the organization go on a mission trip. They also participated in a school supplies drive and gently used uniforms project. Our students have raised money for the American Heart Association.
