Singapore Management University Course Synopsis From historical data, tanker freight market can be extremely volatile either due to inherent structural problems or external factors. Maximising freight earnings for the ship-owner and managing freight exposure risks for the charterer on the other hand, could be an exciting challenge for the persons entrusted with those responsibilities. The objective of this programme is to familiarise persons associated with tanker chartering and operations, those who intend to embark on such a career or those who may apply some of the principles and practices of tanker chartering & freight trading into their normal day to day duties. Attendees will learn about issues that affect chartering and freight management decisions, how different options are explored and the evaluation of those options leading to the final decision. Their careers span over large section of the industry including oil major, international trading firms and reputed ship owner such as BP, Caltex, Vitol and NOL.
