FINAL PROJECT FOR POLSCI

for everyone

Political Science/ Politics and Government students (GCIC) may choose one (1) project for the
final term which will be submitted on or before September 30, 2008. Maxiumum of 6 members
for each group. NO LATE PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED. I am giving you seven (7) options.
These are the suggested projects:

1. A survey of Filipino people's perception on any political issue. Conduct a survey to a

specific group (e.g. first year college students, high school students, poor families) about their
stand on a particular political issue in the Philippines (e.g. charter change, GMA's performance,
reproductive health bill, federalism, role of the church in politics, corruption issues, etc.).
The survey project must include the following:

A. Profile of the Research Subjects (Who answered the survey? Why did you choose them to
answer it? How many respondents?)

B. Copy of the Survey Sheet/ Questionnaire

C. Survey results

D. Analysis of the Survey Results

E. Recommendation

2. Policy Proposal. You may suggest a law or policy (which has not been proposed or approved
in our legislature). (E.g. An Act to Abolish the Licensure Exam of Filipino Nurses). Be sure to
provide the following:

A. Introduction of your proposed law. Justify the necessity of the law you are proposing.

B. Features/ content of your proposed law

C. Beneficiaries of your proposed law (who will benefit?)

D. Advantages and disadvantages of adopting the law

E. Conclusion

3. A short film or documentary about any political issue in the Philippines. Casts and
reporters should be the group members. The film or documentary should be ORIGINAL. This
project should be produced for your Pol Sci class only. (In other words, you may not submit your
past projects in Socio, Psych, Rizal, etc.) Be honest.

4. An original website which contains your political views. Website should contain political
issues and your original views. Pictures and multi-media components make the website more
interesting and entertaining.

5. "My Political Philosophy." Do you consider yourself philosophical? Do you have unique or
not-so-ordinary political thoughts? Then make an interesting article about your own political
philosophy or views. Make sure that your views are original. You may quote other philosophers
but you may not imitate their entire views. For this project, I am expecting a 4-pages double
spaced paper in a folder.

6. Original Editorial Cartoons. Are you an artist? Can you draw editorial cartoons? Then
compile at least two editorial cartoons that you originally made (2-3 artworks per group
member). Needless to say, editorial cartoons should be something "political." Say something
about your work. Submit it in a paper/illustration board/anywhere! Just be artistic and analytic.

7. Politics in Poetry. Are you a poet? Then express your literary creativity by writing
poems/essays/short stories which contain political themes. You may wish to submit your
compilation. All entries should be original. Again, be creative.

GOODLUCK!
