Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged
between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious
saint and why do we celebrate this holiday?

The history of Valentine's Dayand its patron saintis shrouded in mystery. But we
do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as
we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.

So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient
rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named
Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that
Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When
Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with
wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young, single men -- his crop of
potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius
and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's
actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death. Other stories
suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians
escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting
himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -
who may have been his jailor's daughter who visited him during his confinement.
Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your
Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the
Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a
sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by
the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and
France.

Verses and Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages,
when lovers said or sang their valentines. Written valentines began to appear after
1400. The oldest valentine in existence was made in the 1400's and is in the
British Museum. Paper valentines were exchanged in Europe where they were
given in place of valentine gifts. Paper valentines were especially popular in
England. Early valentines were made by hand and were made with colored paper,
watercolors, and colored inks.

There were many different types of handmade valentines, including:

Acrostic valentines - had verses in which the first lines spelled out the loved one's
name

Cutout valentines - made by folding the paper several times and then cutting out a
lacelike design with small, sharp, pointed scissors

Pinprick valentines - made by pricking tiny holes in a paper with a pin or needle,
creating the look of lace

Theorem or Poonah valentines - designs that were painted through a stencil cut in
oil paper, a style that came from the Orient

Rebus valentines - verses in which tiny pictures take the place of some of the
words. (an eye would take the place of the word I)

Puzzle Purse valentines - a folded puzzle to read and refold. Among their many
folds were verses that had to be read in a certain order

Fraktur valentines - had ornamental lettering in the style of illuminated manuscripts
of the Middle Ages

In the early 1800's, valentines began to be assembled in factories. Early
manufactured valentines were black and white pictures that were painted by
workers in a factory. Fancy valentines were made with real lace and ribbons, with
paper lace introduced in the mid 1800's. By the end of the 1800's valentines were
being made entirely by machine.

In the early 1900's a card company named Norcross began to manufacture
valentines. Each year Hallmark displays its collection of rare and antique
valentines at card shops around the country. Museums and Libraries also offer
antique valentine exhibitions around St. Valentine's Day.



Many wonder where Cupid came from and why is he associated with Valentine's
Day.

Cupid has long played a role in the celebrations of love and lovers. He is known as
a mischievous, winged child, whose arrows who would pierce the hearts of his
victims causing them to fall deeply in love. In ancient Greece, he was known as
Eros the young son of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. To the Romans
he was Cupid, and his mother Venus.

One legend tells the story of Cupid and the mortal maiden, Psyche. Venus was
jealous of the beauty of Psyche, and ordered Cupid to punish the mortal. But
instead, Cupid fell deeply in love with her. He took her as his wife, but as a mortal
she was forbidden to look at him. Psyche was happy until her sisters convinced her
to look at Cupid. Cupid punished her by departing. Their lovely castle and gardens
vanished with him and Psyche found herself alone in an open field.

As she wandered to find her love, she came upon the temple of Venus. Wishing to
destroy her, the goddess of love gave Psyche a series of tasks, each harder and
dangerous than the last. For her last task, Psyche was given a little box and told to
take it to the underworld. She was told to get some of the beauty of Proserpine, the
wife of Pluto, and put it in the box.

During her trip she was given tips on avoiding the dangers of the realm of the
dead. And also warned not to open the box. Temptation would overcome Psyche
and she opened the box. But instead of finding beauty, she found deadly slumber.

Cupid found her lifeless on the ground. He gathered the sleep from her body and
put it back in the box. Cupid forgave her, as did Venus. The gods, moved by
Psyche's love for Cupid, made her a goddess.




Valentine's Day is often the least romantic day of the year. Yes you heard me
correctly. The majority of men act like robots, purchasing flowers and chocolate for
their sweethearts because that is what everyone else is doing. Many people
celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration.

Despite this, you shouldnt ignore February 14
th
. Instead, you should give your all
and make Valentines Day a SPECIAL event for you and the one you love. Of
course, there should be a gift involved, but it doesnt have to be something you
bought. It can be your time, your thoughts, your efforts to confirm your love gifts
that money cant buy. Making something yourself, cooking a special meal, creating
a romantic message, or planning a loving surprise, are among the ultimate of gifts.
This doesnt mean you shouldnt buy a gift if you can afford one, but its the way
you give it that will be remembered more than the gift itself.

Start the day by asking, Will you do me the honor of being my valentine? Plan
your activities and surprises for just the two of you.

Create your own rituals and celebrations and focus on all the love and fun youve
shared throughout the year. Take the opportunity to reconnect, to expose your
feelings of love and adoration, and dream up an original way to express your
sentiments. You probably know your valentine better than anyone does, so focus
on what will make him or her thrilled.

make Valentines Day with your loved one the most romantic holiday of the year, a
day that will set the mood for every day following.

1. Buy two stuffed animals, one reflecting your personality and the other
reflecting your loves personality. Dress them with telltale accessories that
leave no doubt that they are you and your valentine. Attach a note on one,
that says, Youre my cuddle bunnyhandsome hippogentle lamb, and
on the other, Im yourpussycattigerdevoted puppyfrog disguised as a
prince

2. Make a box-within-a-box package. Wrap a small item and place it in a
larger box with an item that isnt wrapped. Wrap that box and place it in
yet a larger box with another unwrapped item. Do this until you have
one large box wrapped with loving messages written all over it.

3. Buy a plain mug and paint a personalized message on it. Include his or her
name, a drawing, and words of endearment.

4. Buy a small gift or tickets to the movies or a sports event and put the
prize in a box of Cracker Jacks.

5. Make a CD of love songs and put it inside a clear plastic case. Design a
cover and list each song and a little write-up on how it relates to your feelings
or the memories of being together.

6. Fill a basket or box with your valentines favorite toiletries perfume,
shampoo, lotion, shaving cream, nail polish, etc. Write love notes with
permanent marker on the bottom of the cans or bottles, so your
valentine will think of you every time he or she uses them.

7. Give your sweetheart a trophy, plaque, or certificate with his or her name and
a special title, i.e. Worlds Best Lover, Love of My Life, Girl of My Dreams, My
Prince Charming, Most Beautiful Valentine.

8. Wrap little gifts and hide them all over the house. Write up hint sheets
for their locations. Play Scavenger Hunt and watch your sweetheart
delight in solving the clues and finding special treats.

9. Give your valentine a gift certificate for the two of you to take lessons to learn
something he or she has been yearning to try. It could be dancing, golf,
tennis, cake decorating, a musical instrument, or a course at your local
community college.

10. Buy a picture frame with a large wooden border. Add a happy picture of
the two of you together, then paint and decorate the frame.

11. Have your photo or a photo of both of you imprinted on a t-shirt. Add a
special love message for all the world to see.

12. Buy a dozen roses or any favorite flower and attach a small gift or
loving note to each one. Or cut off the flowers and use the stems to
attach special little gifts. Think of a creative way to use the flowers or
flower petals for an additional surprise.

13. Create a calendar from February to January. Reproduce 12 of your favorite
photos to use for the top of each month. Write little love messages in the
blocks of special dates, such as the day you met, birthdays, dates of special
events, etc.

14. Have a picture of you imprinted on a pillowcase with a loving message.

15. Make or buy a plain wooden box and decorate the outside. Use paint to
inscribe your names and the date, add an loving quote or words of praise,
and glue fake flowers, beads, or other items you might find in an arts and
craft store. You can line the inside with red velvet or any fancy material and
fill the box with candy, little items, or that special gift you bought.

16. Give her a Promise List Jar and pieces of paper. Tell her to write down
some of the things shed like done around the house or dates shed like
to go on with you. Have her fold the pieces of paper and put them in the
jar. Then promise to pick a sheet every week, every other week or once
a month. Be sure to decorate the jar and be realistic in telling her how
often she can expect you to pick a promise.

17. Purchase a mosaic stone stepping kit at your local craft store. Use the tiles to
make an image that represents the two of you as a couple or something as
simple as a heart with your initials in it. The stepping stone can be left in your
garden, on your doorstep, or in any other place where its visible.

18. Make Your Own Game with a kit and customize the game pieces and
board. You can also find games at tag sales and use the pieces to
create your own. Or, buy his or her favorite game and be creative in
changing it to reflect your love and life together.

19. Any His n Her item will convey the message that you belong together. It
can be any article of clothing, or a practical item you use together. Use your
romantic imagination if you have it inscribed or customized.

20. Create a Memory Book with pictures and captions telling of the
special times youve had together and how much they mean to you. Add
little poems or quotes on each page, along with heart stickers.

21. Plan an evening of re-enacting your first date. Talk about all the
wonderful feelings and thoughts you were having when you first met.

22. Have a picnic in your living room. Spread out a blanket on the floor and
prepare a picnic basket with wine and all of his/her favorite foods. Tuck some
little gifts into the basket that you can give your valentine throughout the
feast.

23. Hire a limousine or have a friend pick you up in style and drive you to
your favorite place for a date. Have champagne and flowers ready in the
back seat, where you can express your love to and from the event.

24. Use the number of Valentines Days youve been together as the theme for a
romantic evening at home. If youve spent five years together, you would use
five candles, five flowers, a five-course meal, five special songs, etc. Make a
tent card for the table that says, Five Wonderful Years with My True Love.

25. Weather permitting, rent or borrow a rowboat and spend some romantic
time on the water. Bring some wine, appetizers, and a CD player for love
songs.

26. Have a friend tape you with a movie camera. Talk about how much you love
your partner, all the good memories youve had, and all of your plans for the
future. Order take-out and set up a table in the living room to watch your
private movie.

27. Plan a date involving an activity that your significant other loves,
something you never participate in with him/her. It could be a night at
the bowling alley, a few games of paintball, a tour of a museum, window
shopping, or a tarot reading. Sharing his/her special interest or hobby
will be an event not soon forgotten.

28. Use your imagination to make a small red mailbox with the flag up, and add
your valentines name and address. Place coupons inside free manicure,
free facial, free foot rub, free wash and wax, free 'I don't want to have to go to
________, free to do what I want to do day, etc.

29. Spend a few hours stargazing with a telescope. Have a star named after
your sweetheart and present him/her with the certificate.

30. Hand your valentine a key to a room at a fancy hotel. Go there beforehand
and prepare the room with flowers and five-star treats. Order dinner in that
night and breakfast the next morning.

31. Make a piata shaped in a heart and hang it from the ceiling or outside
from a tree, and watch your valentine trying to break it open. When
he/she succeeds, all the items you placed inside will come tumbling
out. You can add little wrapped gifts, specialty candies, and love notes
in little envelopes.

32. Prepare a special dinner beforehand at a friends or family members house.
When you arrive home, tell your valentine to jump in the shower so you can
go out and celebrate. Slip a homemade card under the door (the bathroom or
bedroom where he/she is getting ready) with a cute saying, such as Love is
big, love is tall, look for me in the hall. Leave a card taped to the wall outside
of the room with a rose and directions to go to the fridge. In the fridge, youll
have placed another card and special chocolates, and directions of where to
find you. Youll be on the balcony or dining room with your surprise dinner.

33. Cut out 365 red and pink hearts. Write a loving message on each one
and place them in a decorated jar so your valentine will have a message
a day for the entire year following.

34. Celebrate the 12 Days of Valentines: Day 1 - one balloon that says I Love
You; Day 2 - two coupons for various special favors or treats; Day 3 - three
love songs, both taped and written words that mean something special; Day
4 - four love poems handwritten; Day 5 - five terms of endearment; Day 6 -
six chocolate candy hearts; Day 7 - seven flowers; Day 8 - eight heart-
shaped cookies; Day 9 - nine message heart candies; Day 10 - ten reasons
(of the millions) why you love him/her; Day 11 - eleven Hersheys hugs and
kisses; Day 12 (Valentine's) - twelve ways to say "I Love You" in different
languages. You can use any items youd like for the 12 days, as long as the
number of items matches the day.

35. If your valentine is in the service or away on business and you wont be
seeing each other, send him a Valentine Evening in a Box, with a letter
describing the good time you would have had if he/she was with you.
Include your homemade card, balloons, candles, candy, and a box of
macaroni and cheese. Add a movie you would have enjoyed watching
together.

36. Find a childrens book with animals or children interacting in loving and caring
ways. Change the names in the book to your name and your partners. If
youre artistic, you can create your own comic book. Celebrate at home and
read the book together.

37. Make reservations at a spa. Spend the evening being pampered.

38. Put together a coupon book with coupons that your valentine can redeem
when he or she wants a special treat, i.e., a massage, a night out for dinner
or the movies, a day free of chores, a special baked treat, breakfast in bed. If
you include a get out of the doghouse free card, make sure you accept it
with a smile when he or she hands it to you.

39. Rent a hot tub and set it up in your living or dining room. Try to find a
company that will deliver and set up the tub for you.

40. Visit the toy department and pick up an item related to your message. It could
be a fake sword, on which youd write, You are my knight in shining armor
on one side of the blade and your loving message on the other. A toy clock
could be used for, Time stands still when youre in my arms, or Theres
never a time when Im not thinking of you. A toy frog could hold the
message, Im your prince in disguise.

41. Arrange for his or her coworkers to deliver a flower or a candy, with a
love note, at different times throughout the day (if your love is in
college, enlist his/her teachers or classmates).

42. Write each line of your message or poem on a separate card. Number
each card and put it in an envelope with a corresponding number. Tape
the envelopes in different places around the house according to your
loves morning ritual. This might include bathroom mirror, shower
curtain, dresser, fridge, the newspaper, front door and steering wheel of
the car. (This can also be done at a different time of day.)

43. Create a Rebus puzzle. Search magazines for letters, words and pictures
that will spell out your message. You can also draw some of the pictures. Use
as many pictures as possible and fill in with the letters and words. I adore
you. Will you be mine? would be: [picture of eye] a- [picture of door] U. Will U
[picture of bee] [picture or drawing of a mine].

44. Make a flip book and draw stick figures if you arent artistic. A simple
one could be your valentine standing to the left side and you on the far
right, running to him/her with a card in your hand. The last page would
show both of you together, with you holding the card with your
message.

45. Display your message outdoors. Stomp the words in the snow and spray
paint the indents red, or scatter flower petals or acorns in them. Or use any
other items available to spell out your message bricks, stones, flowers (if
you live in a warm climate), sticks, etc.

46. Visit an arts-and-crafts or scrapbooking store. Large retail stores have
their own department under this category. Find a bunch of little items to
create a homemade card. You can add beads, fake gems, ribbons,
flowers, stickers the list is endless.

47. Paste little mirrors on the front of your homemade card. Write a clever saying,
like Look who makes my heart beat wildly, or A reflection of my love. Then
write your message inside.

48. Write your message on a heavy piece of paper and cut it into puzzle
pieces. You can scatter the pieces around the house or give all of them
to your valentine in a box youve decorated.

49. Make a giant card on a poster board. Include photos, loving messages,
words of praise, or poems and quotes. Dress it up with glitter, stickers, beads,
etc.

50. Make a pop-up card. Find a diagram online to create an origami design
or use a little spring and glue your photo or cut-out drawing to it. You
can make your own spring by taking a piece of heavy paper and
folding it in half-inch increments. The ladies can put on red lipstick and
make a lip imprint to cut out for the pop-up.
51. Buy a heavy floor tile at your local hardware store. Use enamel paint to write
your message and create a design. You can add a gloss coating after it dries.
The tile can be left on the counter or stove and used year-round as a hot
plate. In this case, you might want to glue little rubber legs on the
underside.

52. Write your message on something in the house a mirror, the shower
curtain, the tub wall, or any area that is washable. Use lipstick, finger
paints or non-permanent magic markers. (Do a test, beforehand, to
make sure the writing can be removed.) Take a picture of the message,
so your valentine has a permanent reminder.

53. Buy a package of kids valentines. There are several versions and you might
find some related to a cartoon, sport, or action figure that your partner loves.
Make a collage of the cards on a heart-shaped board. You can write in little
messages, where space allows.

54. Buy some window magic markers. Decorate a window and add your
words of love. You can use several windows, each with a different
theme. Or write your message on the garage door windows, so your
valentine can read it as he/she pulls into the driveway.

55. Use your living room floor as a showcase for your message. Use blocks,
flowers, kitchen utensils, strips of cardboard, or anything available, to spell
out your message. It can be a simple I LOVE YOU, or BE MINE. Scatter
heart cutouts around the words.

56. Buy a wind chime and use permanent marker to write a short love
message on each chime.

57. Buy a bunch of helium balloons. Express your love in words by writing
expressions of your love on each one. Leave the balloon message where
he/she will find it upon waking in the morning or arriving home from work.

58. Make a love chain. Cut strips of red and white paper, approximately 6
inches long and a half-inch wide. Write your message in sections on the
white strips, then link all the pieces (red/white/red/white, etc.) together.
Take your first strip and glue the ends together to form a circle. Then
add the others one by one by looping through the circle and gluing the
ends. The chain can be as short or long as necessary. Drape it where
your valentine will see it when they wake up or arrive home from work.

59. Use sidewalk chalk to draw and write sweet messages on your valentines
driveway or sidewalk.

60. Enlist a friend to deliver flowers or candy and a love gram to your
valentine at work.

61. Tell your valentine that every red bow he/she sees that day will be a reminder
of your love. (You can choose a different color bow or another item.) Place
the bows in places sure to be spotted throughout the day.

62. Leave a trail of Hansel & Gretel love notes from the door to the
bathroom, where youll be relaxing in a warm bubble bath. Extend an
invite to join you. Use candlelight and have flower petals scattered
about.

63. Ask the receptionist where he/she works if they could page your partner
during the day. Message: Paging [your valentines name]. [Your name]
requests the privilege of being your valentine.

64. Place notes in your valentines pockets, purse, briefcase, phone case,
and other places where they will be discovered during the day.
Express your love and build anticipation for the romantic evening you
have planned.

65. Plan a love renewal ceremony for just the two of you. Find a romantic spot
and decorate with flowers and candles. Bring glasses and beverage for a
toast. Create a How Do I Love Thee list or write a poem or prayer and recite
it to your valentine.

66. Build a snowman (for cold climates) or a scarecrow figure of yourself
close to the road for all to see. Drape a sign around the neck that says:
[Your name] loves [his/her name].

67. Place a rose and an official notice under the car windshield for your
valentine to find when they leave work. Write up the notice like a legal
document, starting each paragraph with Whereas Fill it will praises,
promises and recollections of happy times together. End it with your plans for
celebrating the occasion.

68. Ask your waiter/waitress to deliver your gift with drinks or dessert, or a
single rose with every course. If you have reservations, you can ask the
hostess to leave a sign on your table that says, Reserved for the
luckiest guy (gal) on earth and his (her) valentine.

69. Post a public declaration of your love on his/her favorite website.

70. Make a mold of a heart and inscribe My Heart on it. Wrap it and give it
to your valentine.

71. Use flower petals to shape a large heart on the table. Place your card or gift
in the middle.

72. Give your love a dance sheet, with your name filled in for every dance.
Then take her/him to dinner at a restaurant with a band or DJ playing
that night. Or make a CD of love songs and spend the evening dancing
in your living room.

73. Find some small, smooth-shaped rocks. Paint little messages and designs on
them and place them in a crystal bowl.

74. While your valentine opens the gift you wrapped, play a tape that you
recorded about everything you love about your relationship and all the
things that make him or her so special.

75. Write a song expressing your love, one that you can sing to a favorite
melody. Bring your date to a karaoke site and surprise him/her with your
performance. If youre shy, do this at home.

76. Recruit a friend or relative to dress up and serve you a meal and dessert
specially prepared beforehand. (Someone who will serve in silence and
then leave.) Find someone to serenade you or play a CD of love songs
you recorded. Dont forget the candles and flowers.

77. Plan to serve your valentine breakfast in bed. Write your greetings on a tent
card and place it on a tray with a special breakfast. In addition to the eggs or
pancakes, add strawberries or another red treat. Your sweetheart can enjoy
his/her breakfast while reading your words of love.

78. Have your mate fill out a questionnaire that will give you all the answers
to what they think would be a perfect day and give them a date for when
it will happen. Talk about all the fun youll have, while you celebrate
Valentines Day at home.

79. Send a message with an invite for an intimate dinner and include a tube of
chapstick with a red ribbon around it and a note indicating that it will be
needed. After the meal and some chocolate covered strawberries, hand your
valentine a box with kissing impressions all over the outside in red lipstick,
and filled with Hershey kisses and little pieces of paper. Search the Internet
for different types of kisses there are over 50 and write one on each piece
of paper. Take turns drawing a slip and demonstrating the kiss.

80. Hang balloons from the ceiling, each one filled with different items
confetti, red hots, little paper hearts, imprinted candy hearts and have
your valentine pop them. Then share the game book you put together,
which will include crossword puzzles, circle words, dot-to-dots,
hangman, etc. All should have your relationship as the theme.

81. Paste glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling and tell your valentine that since it
was too cold to go outside, you brought the sky to him/her. Lay on a blanket
to eat or watch a movie and gaze at the sky together.

82. If you work different shifts and wont have much time together, fill your
valentines car with balloons, small gifts, flowers and candy. Leave a
note saying that youll be thinking of them and will plan a special event
for another day.

83. Use your valentines initials and find words to describe him or her. Charles,
for example, would be: Constantly there for meHandsome and charming
Always on my mind Royalty in my eyes Love of my life Everything I
ever hoped forSexy and irresistible

84. Use red food dye to color any number of foods. Its harmless, tasteless,
and will do wonders in setting a valentine mood. Add it to any white or
light-colored food to create a pinkish/ reddish tint. Some choices are
mashed potatoes, pancake mix, whipped cream, mayonnaise,
cauliflower, frosting, and cake batter.

85. Add red and pink food items to your breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu beets,
radishes, red peppers, spaghetti sauce, baked red potatoes, red onions,
tomatoes, red grapefruit, cranberry sauce, red jello, or any of the white or
light-colored foods that can be dyed with food coloring.

86. Snack on red fruit like watermelon, cherries, raspberries, pomegranate,
or strawberries. The berries can be dipped in chocolate for a special
treat.

87. Serve red drinks with your meal. Include red wine (if you prefer white wine,
add some coloring), cherry soda, cranberry or red fruit juice, or mix any
cocktail that has a red color.

88. Make a centerpiece with red lollipops. You can add a red ribbon and
love tag to each one, or write a little note with marker on the clear
cellophane.

89. Use red gumdrops to make a bouquet for the table. Buy a pack of skewers or
long lollipop sticks and stick a large red gumdrop to the top of each one. You
can tie red ribbons around each one, and/or attach little love notes. Place
your bouquet in a vase or large glass.

90. Popsicle sticks are great for making valentine cookies. Use frosting to

91. HERSHEY'S MINI KISS CHOCOLATE BLOSSOMS
Prep Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
Additional sugar
1-3/4 cups (10-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S MINI KISSES Semi-Sweet
Chocolate

Instructions:
1) In large bowl, beat butter, 1-1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla until light
and fluffy. Stir together flour, cocoa and salt; gradually add to butter
mixture, beating until well blended.
2) Refrigerate dough about 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
3) Heat oven to 350F. Shape dough into 1-1/8-inch balls; roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
4) Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove from oven.
5) Place 3 MINI KISSES on each cookie, pressing down lightly.
6) Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

92. HEART PIZZA
Prep Time: 15 min.

Ingredients:
1 large Pizza base pre-baked
1/3 cups of Pizza sauce
1/3 cups of grated Mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice
Olive oil.

Instructions:
1) Trim pizza base into a heart shape, place on pizza pan or baking sheet.
2) Spread pizza sauce on the base to near the edge.
3) Sprinkle the grated cheese over sauce.
4) Place toppings
5) Drizzle with a little olive oil.
6) Bake at 375F until the cheese is melted and pizza is piping hot.
93. EASY PACKAGED COOKIE DOUGH HEART
Prep Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Instructions:
1) Roll the cookie dough to 1/4 inch thick and form it into a heart shape.
2) Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
3) Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, or until the cookie is lightly
brown on the edges.
4) In a large mixing bowl, mix cream cheese with confectioner's sugar.
Spread the mixture on cooled cookie dough. Cover with cherry pie filling
and whipped cream.

94. HEART MEATBALLS
Prep Time: 50 min.

Ingredients:
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 (1 ounce) envelopes dry onion soup mix

Instructions:
1) In a medium bowl, toss together the cheese and mushrooms. In a
separate bowl. mix together the ground beef and onion soup mix. Divide
the beef into 12 to 16 balls, then form them into small, thin heart shaped
patties. Press an indention into the center of half of the hearts, and fill
with the cheese and mushrooms. Place another patty on top, and press
to seal the hearts around the filling. Place in a shallow baking dish.
2) Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees F, until beef is well done, and
filling is hot.
95. CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY BROWNIES
Prep Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:
1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Raspberry Chips
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions:
1) Heat oven to 350F.
2) Grease 8-inch square baking pan.
3) In medium saucepan, combine raspberry chips and butter. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Remove from heat.
4) Add eggs and vanilla; stir until well blended.
5) Add flour, sugar and baking powder; stir until well blended.
6) Spread batter into prepared pan.
7) Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
8) Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Makes approx. 20 brownies.

96. RASPBERRY SPINACH SALAD
Prep Time: 15 min.

Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons Raspberry Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Raspberry Jam
1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
8 Cups Spinach, rinsed, stemmed and torn into pieces.
3/4 Cup coarsely chopped Macadamia nuts or toasted almond slices
1 Cup Fresh Raspberries
3 Kiwis, peeled and sliced

Dressing: Combine vinegar and jam in blender or small bowl.
Add oil in thin stream, blending well.

Instructions:
Toss spinach with 1/2 of the nuts, 1/2 of the raspberries, 1/2 of the kiwi's
and the dressing. Top with the remaining ingredients (nuts, raspberries and
kiwis.) Serve immediately.
97. HERSHEYS MINI KISSES PRALINE BARS
Prep Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/3 cups packed light brown sugar, divided
1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 2/3 cup butter, divided
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or pecan pieces
1-3/4 cups (10-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S MINI KISSES Chocolate

Instructions:
1) Heat oven to 350F.
2) In large bowl, stir together flour and 1 cup brown sugar; with pastry
blender or fork, cut in 1/2 cup butter until fine crumbs form. Press
mixture into 13x9-inch baking pan; sprinkle with pecans.
3) In small saucepan, place remaining 2/3 cup butter and remaining 1/3
cup brown sugar; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until
mixture boils. Continue boiling, stirring constantly, 30 seconds, until
sugar dissolves; drizzle evenly over pecans and crust.
4) Bake 17 to 22 minutes until topping is bubbly and golden; remove from
oven. Immediately sprinkle MINI KISSES Chocolate over top. Cool
completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars.
Makes about 3 dozen bars.

98. BLT VALENTINE BITES
Prep Time: 20 min.

Ingredients:
20 Cherry tomatoes
1 lb Bacon, cooked, crumbled
1/2 c Mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/3 c Green onions, chopped
3 tb Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tb Fresh parsley, snipped

Instructions:
1) Cut a thin slice off each cherry tomato top. Scoop out and discard pulp.
2) Invert tomatoes on a paper towel to drain.
3) In a small bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Spoon into tomatoes.
4) Refrigerate several hours.

99. CHOCOLATE SWEETHEART CAKES FOR TWO
Prep Time: 30 min.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoons HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
CHOCOLATE FROSTING (recipe follows)
1 tube pink decorating icing

Instructions:
1) Heat oven to 350F. Grease and flour 8-inch square baking pan.
2) In medium bowl, stir together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar,
cocoa, baking soda and salt.
3) Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla; beat with whisk or spoon until
smooth.
4) Pour batter into prepared pan.
5) Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out
clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely.
6) Transfer to cutting board.
7) Using 3-1/4 inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut cake into 4 pieces.
8) Spread CHOCOLATE FROSTING on top of two pieces; place
remaining two hearts on top. Garnish with decorating icing.
9) Makes 2 small cakes

CHOCOLATE FROSTING
1 tablespoon butter or margarine 2/3 cup powdered sugar 1 tablespoon
HERSHEY'S Cocoa 2 to 3 teaspoons milk 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
In small microwave-safe bowl, place butter. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 20
seconds or until butter is melted. Stir together powdered sugar and cocoa;
add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beating with spoon or whisk until
smooth. Stir in vanilla. About 1/3 cup frosting.
100. CUPIDS PIE
Prep Time: 20 min.

Ingredients:
1 (9-inch) chocolate crumb pie crust
Maraschino cherries (with stems) for garnish before serving
1 quart ice cream (strawberry, cherry vanilla or chocolate swirl)
Extra Thick Fudge Sauce - recipe follows (or buy fudge sauce at store)
Whipped cream

Instructions:
1) Allow ice cream to soften just until able to spread in pie shell. Freeze
until firm.
2) Before serving, top with Fudge Sauce, cover with whipped cream and
decorate each serving with a stemmed cherry.

Extra Thick Fudge Sauce
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter
1 (13 ounce) can evaporated milk
Combine ingredients in heavy 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat,
stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Store in
refrigerator. Reheat over low heat or in microwave oven.
Sauce yields 2 1/2 cups.

101. HERSHEY'S MINI KISS PEANUT BLOSSOMS
Prep Time: 25 min.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup REESE'S Creamy Peanut Butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Additional granulated sugar
1-3/4 cups (10-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S MINI KISSES Chocolate

Instructions:
1) Heat oven to 375F.
2) In large bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until well blended.
3) Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until light and
fluffy.
4) Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.
5) Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to peanut butter
mixture, beating until well blended.
6) Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on
ungreased cookie sheet.
7) Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately place 3
MINI KISSES Chocolate on top of each cookie, pressing down slightly.
Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

GOOD RING, BAD RING

It was Valentines Day 1985. I had planned a romantic evening in my apartment for
my fianc and me. After dinner, I planned to ask her to marry me.

Just as I began to ask her and present the ring, the telephone rings. My fianc
answers on the other end was my ex-girlfriend whom I had not even spoken
with in over a year. Needless to say, I didn't speak to her that night either.

However, all is well we have a wonderful marriage almost 19 years going strong!


THE SUITE ISNT SWEET

Last year for Valentines Day, I decided to surprise my man with a Jacuzzi suite in
one of the Marriot hotels. So I booked the suite and got everything I would need:
dinner, candles, alcohol (yes, I've been over 21 for some time now) - the works.

This is the first time I had used this particular chain of hotels. I was told over the
phone that I could do an early check-in (2pm) instead of the normal 4pm check-in.
However when I got there at 2pm, I was told that they weren't allowing early check-
ins that day, and to come back at 4pm.

I was temporarily baffled, but I left and returned at 4pm when I was given the key
to my Jacuzzi suite. When I opened the door and looked around, I thought, this is
really cool! They had a single rose on top of the TV, two plastic champagne
glasses on the table, and in the bathroom there were three candles lining the
Jacuzzi bathtub. This was unexpected and helpful.

I went about hiding all the phones and remotes, setting up the CD player with my
CD's, setting and lighting my candles, little chocolate hearts on the bed and dinner
cooked in the microwave.

When giving the place one last inspection to make sure everything was to my
liking, I noticed a beat up "boombox" under the desk and thought the maid forgot to
take it with her, no big deal.

I left and picked up my boyfriend, telling him we were going to a couples party that
I just found out about that morning. So I played it off trying to remember the room
number until I let us in. Needless to say, he was surprised and I went and started
our Jacuzzi complete with bubbles.

While we were "relaxing" there was a knock at the door, then another. I got up and
someone was trying to open the door! If I wouldn't have used the chain they would
have seen me shocked and naked in all my glory! I told them to hold on after they
stated they were hotel staff and threw on some clothes.

When I looked out of the peep hole I saw two women, one with a bag of groceries
and two men as well as the lady from the front desk waiting not so patiently. When
I finally opened the door one of the women stated that this was their room! How in
the Heck?

It turns out that those champagne glasses were hers. The rose atop the TV, hers.
The three candles that lined the Jacuzzi, hers. The beat up old radio, yep, that was
hers too! So we had to allow these people to come in and collect their belongings,
invading our private time (we have a child so we don't get so much anymore).

Just when I thought that this chain was going to be my new choice of hotels,
thinking that they took the time to mildly decorate the suite for the sake of their
valentine lovers, I find, as it turns out that even though the hotel staff was not
supposed to allow early check-ins for this day, someone at the front desk gave
these couples their keys, they deposited a few belongings and left to go grocery
shopping to make use of the little kitchenette.

Talk about privacy invasion!!! How would you like to be "doin' it" and suddenly
have hotel staff try to bust in on you because they screwed up. Then have to allow
complete strangers walk around picking over your things?

My Valentines Day 2004 was a complete and total disaster from the moment of
that first knock on the door! I've been waiting to get that off my chest for a while!


ON AGAIN OFF AGAIN

My worst Valentine's Day ever was two years ago. I was dating a guy that I'd been
off and on with for three years.

I bought him an expensive pool stick, a bag to go with it, ordered him a dozen
roses, and paid to have a poem written for him. I had planned the whole evening
out already.

He called me that morning and told me that he had too much going on in his life
and didn't have time for a girlfriend. Especially a serious one. So I decided that I
would go out with a friend to try not to think about it. That night I saw him out with
another woman.




BLACK SATURDAY

Last year my best friend and I relabeled Valentine's Day to Black Saturday. We're
barely even able to talk about it still.

At the time she and I were dating best friends. We had only been dating a couple
of months and were just starting to realize that their social drinking was actually a
budding addiction.

For dinner, the guys made reservations at a really nice restaurant. I'm still thanking
God that we had a really late reservation I think around 9pm. They had waited till
the last minute to make them and that was all that was available. That was a
blessing in disguise. By 9:00 there were few in the restaurant that would have to be
tortured by such abominations as we were going to be subjected to.

Although our reservations were at 9 we arrived early and sat at the bar for cocktails
hoping we might be seated earlier. We were all famished. Fortunately, they didn't
seat us too soon. The restaurant was winding down by the time we were seated,
so we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu.

There were only two or three other couples sitting in close proximity and trying to
have a nice romantic evening dinner. Well apparently my boyfriend felt we weren't
being helped fast enough so he started making really loud derogatory comments
about the service. At one point he yelled at the top of his lungs "Where the bleep
is our waitress?" Needless to say, it got everybody's attention including the
waitress that was standing within arms distance right behind us.

My friend and I were mortified. These two schmucks didn't think a thing of it. They
sat there looking at each other and giggling at their own lack of class. Oh, but it
didn't stop there.

At this point we should have ran like no other but we just slumped over in our
booth and prayed for the behavior to cease and that nobody would recognize us.
Soon after we ordered, our appetizers arrived and our dinner salads. At this point
the profanity and derogatory remarks were nothing. Now they decided they wanted
to feed us with their hands! That works for some things and it might even be
cute in the right circumstance but feeding us salad with their bare hands in a fine
restaurant and shoving it all over your face when youre refusing it was less than
appropriate.

By now the people around us were fidgeting, not knowing what to do or think and
the waitresses felt so bad for us they were just trying to get us out of there as
quickly as possible.

By the end of the night, my boyfriend, thinking he's being romantic, went around
the entire restaurant and gathered up all their balloons to give to me. I insisted that
it was a sweet gesture but there was no way we could take them home with us.
There were four of us and we were driving a pickup truck. He didn't care he
insisted we bring them home.

On the way out the door, the waitress whispered to me, "Its ok honey, I've been
there too, I hate Valentine's Day too." All I could do was smile back at her and
shake my head in agreement.

Well there was no arguing with him, so the four of us piled into my boyfriends truck
and I proceeded to try and shove these balloons in on top of us all. I managed to
get all of us and the balloons in the truck but I made it very clear that the two
clowns in the back seat were to behave and keep the balloons out of my face so I
could drive without killing us all.

We were about 20 miles from home and I somehow knew it would be a disaster
before we got home. I'm not a mom but this night I sure felt like one. About half
way home, I heard a balloon pop and then giggling. The two in the back were
buried so far in balloons I couldn't see them, but I knew which one had done it by
the giggling.

This upset the other one who then got mad at him for popping a balloon and the
two proceed to fight like kids in the back seat over the balloons. Of course, since
they couldn't see each other through the balloons, all you could see was rustling
balloons and hear them throwing more profanity at each other. We were so
appalled, we nearly left the two on the side of the road.

We finally made it home and I dropped my best friend and her date off at her
house. I took my date home and put him and the balloons to rest. My best friend
decided to go out with some friends she knew wouldn't embarrass her and
hopefully make up for the events prior. However much to her surprise, her date
wasn't going to be shook loose. She ended up having to take him with her and he
proceeded to continue to embarrass her in front of her other friends who eventually
decided to buy him a cab ride home just to get rid of him for her.

To this day my friend and I have sworn off Black Saturday and refuse to talk about
it. Never have I been so mortified in my life. I'm 29 and my date was 36. I never
imagined someone his age could be capable of acting like a five year old. Boy was
I wrong. Needless to say, none of us are still dating and I'm still too embarrassed
to ever set foot in that restaurant again.


MY NOT SO FUNNY VALENTINE

My ex-husband and I were celebrating our first Valentine's together as a married
couple. I had his gift neatly wrapped in a bag to give him. In my family, it's tradition
to say, "Hold out your hands and close your eyes so I can give you a big surprise."
So I said that to my then-husband as I got ready to give him his gift. He had seen
it was in a bag so he thought it would be funny to hold out a finger (to hang the bag
from) instead of his hands. His humor also led him to believe that the finger should
be his middle finger so he would be flipping me off. I cried and cried thinking how
mean that was to "give the finger" to your new bride on what should have been
such a special and memorable holiday. I don't even remember the gift; I only
remember how upset he made me.


NO MORE SECRETS

I dated the same guy all through high school (I know, big mistake... and of course it
WAS a big mistake!) Anyway, one day I got to my lunch table and there was a
bouquet of flowers waiting for me. The tag said "I know you have a boyfriend, but I
just wanted to see you smile. From your secret admirer." Of course, I was looking
around the cafeteria grinning like a Cheshire cat trying to see if I could catch the
culprit.

Later that day, my boyfriend found out about the flowers and decided that I must
be cheating on him! I finally convinced him that I wasn't, but found out that he had
to work on Valentine's Day.

So my cousin and I went out for dinner on V-Day since she didn't have a boyfriend
and mine was busy. When we got to the restaurant and were waiting to be seated,
who walked through the door? Of course, my soon-to-be EX-boyfriend with his arm
around another girl... pay back as he called it!

I was heart-broken at the time, but I still have the rose that was in that bouquet and
the card that came with it. If it wasn't for my "secret admirer," I may not have met
the man I love so much today. I told him that I had never had a good Valentine's
day and he has done everything he can to make it one of the most special days of
the year for me. We are getting married in May... thanks (in part) to my secret
admirer, whoever he was!

BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS

It was the week before a valentine's evening banquet. It was required that you
dress up and bring a date - after all it was "Sadie's Hawkins Year" and girls had to
ask the guys. So I asked my favorite guy, the one I had been going out with for
months.

I was so excited that he had said yes. I looked for the sexiest gown, but yet with
good tastes. I found a black one in velvet skirting and silk bodice and attached a
rose bow to the waistline. I had my hair and nails all done. Quite costly, I might
add.

It was two hours before our date and I was picking him up in a limousine that I had
rented. It was all planned, everything was in place. I decided to check my email
before leaving. To my amazement there was an email from my date, "Sorry, other
plans came up and I had to leave for Oklahoma City." His friend Teresa had to go
to a dog show and she needed him to watch her other animals."

I was never so angry in all my life, I had never had this happen to me before. I
remembered another male who I had I picked up on the road and he had given me
his phone number. So I called him up, and he said yes and I could pick him up no
problem. He said he would be ready and put on his best outfit. So I went to his
house and to my amazement he came out in a pair of cut-up blue jeans and a dirty,
very filthy smelly shirt. The gracious host that I am, and not a person who backs
out on anything, I went ahead with it.

So to make a long story short, the speaker talked about the beast and the
princess, how our lives relate to that. Embarrassing I might add, but I tried to laugh
about it all and act as though I was proud of who I am, until I went home and cried
my eyes out.


NOT WORTH THE WAIT

On Valentines Day, my boyfriend (at the time) and I decided to stay home and
have a quiet romantic dinner, since restaurants are always so crowded on that day.
I'd made a wonderful seafood dinner, lit candles, had roses petals on the bed, & I'd
bought some great champagne. On top of that, the next day was my birthday, so it
was really special to me.

Well I waited and waited and my boyfriend never showed up. Never called or
anything. He showed up the next morning on my birthday with flowers and a card,
which I tore in little pieces and told him to get out. I figured he must've been with
someone else. I was furious and hurt.
LOBSTER TALES

We didn't have much money a few years back (my DH got out of the United States
Air Force, took a job paying less, new house, car, utilities, etc. - you get the
picture).

I saved up money for a month to buy lobster tails at the grocery store. I looked up
the recipe, bought several fancy "parts" to complete the meal, and came home to
cook it.

I looked great, the table looked great, soft music was playing in the background,
and the candles were lit. THE LOBSTER BURNT. It was horrible!!! I had put it in
the oven, and I did exactly what the recipe said, but my tails must have been
smaller than what they recommended. They were burnt black. Talk about
STINKING!!! We had to open the windows and the doors and fan out the smell
with dishtowels (and it still wasn't completely gone for about two days). YUCK!

We wound up eating cold bologna sandwiches as our main course!

To make matters worse, my husband was the only one who ate one of the oysters
in its shell, and he got FOOD POISONING!

UGH. From now on, when we want seafood (other than baked fish), we go out for
it!


ZOO DOO DOO

My worst Valentine's Day ever was Feb. 14, 2002. I was at work wondering what
my husband and I would do that evening. Every year since we'd met we would go
to the Zoo for Valentine's Day. Twenty Years of Zoo Valentines and I loved it.

I got a call while still at work.. and it was my husband. He told me on the phone
that he wanted a divorce and would be moving out that night. When I got home
from work he was partially packed. He didn't move that night. We actually went to
dinner with my parents and my children for the holiday and he moved out the next
day.

A Valentine's Day I'll never forget.



WANT A DOLLAR?

I spent endless hours last year trying to put together the most special, wonderful,
thoughtful present ever. I looked up different ways of saying I Love You and put
them on heart shaped sugar cookies that I made.

I made homemade candies, fudge, and a poem. Then I wrote down 100 reasons
why I loved him. I put them all in a beautiful box.

The evening he came over, I had dinner made for us with sweet romantic music
and candle light, then afterwards I presented him with the box of goodies. I also
had chocolate covered fruit and I fed it to him.

I was waiting in anticipation for my gift, but didn't want to say anything. After the
night was over and I was walking him to his car he told me that he didn't get me
anything but that he had a dollar that he could give me all the while he was digging
in his pocket to fish it out.

If that wasn't bad enough he told me that he didn't want the baskets... he would
just eat the stuff inside and then give me the baskets back. He didn't have any use
for them. I was hurt, crushed, and very mad. I just smiled at him and told him that I
didn't want them back and that I'm sure he could find something to do with them.


FORGET ME NOT

My husband knew I liked the idea of lying on the beach and watching the stars, so
he planned a late night picnic on the beach to watch the stars.

He didn't want any help, so he packed everything himself, and picked the place.
We got to the beach that was 20 minutes away and he started pulling out things.

He had forgotten a flashlight to walk down to the beach so we stumbled a bit to get
here, and the water had receded some and it was very bumpy to get to the waters
edge.

He went to light the candle he brought but he forgot the matches. We laid the
blanket down, and in doing so got sand in the basket, (and food that was in there).
He had brought some fruit, and cheese and small meat plates, (now with sand
added).

We decided to cuddle up and just enjoy some wine but he had forgotten a bottle
opener, so we tried to dig the cork out with the cheese knife. We settled on having
corky whine, and watching the stars for a while.

Two years ago on Valentine's Day my boyfriend whom I'd been dating for only six
months had to work, so I asked him if he wanted to go to lunch somewhere. He
said he couldn't because he had something to do.

So, I said OK because I figured he had to go somewhere to get my valentines gift
or something like that. So I called him on his cell phone but he did not answer it,
which was odd because he always had it with him and always answered it,
especially during his lunch break.

So I went to my house and grabbed his Valentines gift and was going to go to his
work and wait for him to get back from lunch and surprise him with it. Well, when I
got there, his truck was in the parking lot so I thought he was already back. So I
went inside to talk to him but he was not there, so I figured he had gone with one of
his friends which he often did.

So I was sitting in my car parked next to his truck waiting for him to get back. After
a couple of minutes, a white car pulled into the parking lot that looked like the car
one of my female co-workers drove.

As it drove nearer, it pulled up and I could see that he was in the passenger seat. I
got out of my car and walked over to the vehicle. I was furious and so was she
after we finally got everything out of him.

He was still trying to lie his way out of it even though we had caught him red
handed. It turns he had been dating her for the last four of the six months that he
had been dating me.

My co-worker and I were pretty good acquaintances at work only, but we never
really discussed our personal life with each other so neither of us had any idea.

So from then on, we agreed to at least introduce our boyfriends to each other so
this would never happen again, at least with her and me. Needless to say, we both
returned the valentines gift we had got for him.

VALENTINES DAY TO REMEMBER

My ex boyfriend and I were really tight up for cash one Valentines Day. So he
wanted to cook me a nice romantic candlelit dinner and then go to the movies. I
was so excited.

I got dressed up really nicely and headed out to his house. It was snowing pretty
badly out, and of course, just my luck, my car breaks down. I had to walk in the
snow for 15 minutes to try and find a pay phone, but there we none so I ended up
walking to his house.

So I finally I arrive at his house late, obviously drenched, hair, makeup, outfit,
shoes ruined. So he went and got me dry clothes and we ate dinner. Then the
worst part arrives. After our dinner and movie, which went great (even though I
was wearing guys clothes), we decide to slip into his hot tub. And when I say slip I
mean SLIP!!

We have had a couple drinks by now, and we were ready to get it on any second. I
get into the hot tub first. Then he goes to get in and slips -- landing right onto his

I rushed him to the hospital and we were there all night and all the next day. A
Valentine's Day I will never forget!!!
