Hello St. Elizabeths CYO Alumni

Welcome back to St. Elizabeths for your 40 CYO Reunion. For those of you who no longer live in the diocese, my name is Thomas Paprocki, Bishop of Springfield. I am pleased to have an opportunity to extend my greetings and a hearty Welcome Home to each of you. As you prepare to gather for the 40 CYO reunion, it is my understanding that you are approaching nearly 100 attendees. This is quite astounding for an organization that had no formal membership, dues, secret handshakes, or decoder rings. You must have been quite a group and had some truly fantastic leaders, both student and adult, lay and religious, setting positive examples, enjoying each others company, working together toward common goals based on shared values and beliefs.

You are celebrating those friendships, that goodness, that Godness, which you found and sustained in each other so many years ago. As you reconnect gather for your 40th with each other,it is my CYO reunion, marveling at the many diverse paths youve taken in your lives, remember the essential values and faith that brought you together then - and bring you back together now. understanding that Celebrate the community that your parents and grandparents, your teachers and pastors built at St. E a community that is as nearly 100 strong and vibrant today as it was when you were teens in the parish.
