Position: Assistant/Associate Professor, Masters of Adult Education & Training (Tenure-track) Start Date: September 2012 Description: The

Master's degree program in Adult Education and Training at Seattle University seeks tenure-track faculty member to teach graduate courses in workplace learning, with emphasis in human resource training and development and human performance technology. This tenure-track faculty position begins September 2012. The Master's in Adult Education and Training program prepares students to serve adult learners in teaching, training, leadership, and consultative positions. We seek candidates who have a successful record in graduate-level teaching, scholarship related to workplace learning, and service connecting academic programs with business, industry, and professional associations. Commitment to diversity and capacity to work with diverse populations required. In relation to the core responsibilities of this position, capacity to work with doctoral students and be active in Seattle University's Youth Initiative is desired. Qualifications: Required: Earned doctorate in Adult Education or highly related field. Demonstrated success in graduate-level teaching. Record of scholarship related to workplace learning, adult learning or related areas and philosophically consistent with the department, college, and university's mission of educating the whole person and preparing leaders for a just and humane world. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and students from multicultural communities and backgrounds. Preferred: Prior field experience as practitioner in workplace learning and evidence of focus on research-based practice. Experience working with business and education communities on issues related to workplace learning. Record of active participation in professional organizations related to the field. Experience in the design and delivery of distance learning. Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A stipend is available for summer teaching.
