SWOT Analysis of Suzuki Pakistan


INTRODUCTION
Pak Suzuki Motors Company Ltd. is a company assembling and distributing Suzuki Japan's cars in Pakistan. Currently they are one of the most successful motor companies in Pakistan. The firm was founded in 1983 as a joint venture between PAK and Suzuki, formalizing the arrangement by which AWAMI Auto Ltd. had produced the Suzuki SS80 from 1982. Suzuki originally owned 25% of the stock, and has gradually increased their holding; they now own 73.09%. The company now assembles a wide range of Suzuki vehicles and aims to produce 150,000 vehicles per year. (2005 production was 100,000)

SWOT analysis (alternately SLOT analysis)


Is a strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses/Limitations, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a project or in a business venture. It involves specifying the objective of the business venture or project and identifying the internal and external factors that are favorable and unfavorable to achieve that objective. A SWOT analysis must start with defining a desired end state or objective. A SWOT analysis may be incorporated into the strategic planning model. Strengths: characteristics of the business, or project team that give it an advantage over others Weaknesses (or Limitations): are characteristics that place the team at a disadvantage relative to others Opportunities: external chances to improve performance (e.g. make greater profits) in the environment Threats: external elements in the environment that could cause trouble for the business or project
