NOTE: LIFT KIT ONLY FOR CARS MADE AFTER 2001 We strongly recommend you install a PTV (Personal Transportation Vehicle) kit (p/n 610594) on installation of this lift kit.
FRONT SUSPENSION
To prevent possible injury or death, place wheel chocks in front and behind the rear wheels. Check the stability of the vehicle on the jack stands before starting any repair procedure. Never work on a vehicle that is supported by a jack alone.
A. Prepare Vehicle 1. 2. 3. 4. Loosen front wheel lugs. Lift and support front of vehicle. Remove the front wheels. Place the chocks in front and behind each wheel not being raised to stabilize the vehicle. When lifting vehicle, position jacks and jack stands at the areas indicated only. 5. 6. 1. Remove front shield and light bar (if applicable). Remove and set aside the front wheels. Remove hardware securing rack and pinion unit to front axle and retain hardware and spacers (Note orientation of hardware). Move rack and pinion unit back to rest on top of front springs.

Fold back the floormat from the floorboard to gain access to the rear bolts of the front leaf spring. Remove the hardware securing the front leaf spring plate from one of the leaf springs, replace one leaf spring at a time. Remove the hardware securing the rear of the front leaf spring and the spring plate. Replace with new leaf spring and reassemble using existing hardware and tighten to 35 - 50 ft. lbs. (50 - 70 Nm) torque.

Repeat procedure for other front leaf spring. Re-mount the rack and pinion unit to the front axle using the existing hardware and tighten to 35 - 50 ft. lbs. (50 70 Nm) torque.

Place the shock boot on the front shock absorbers. Loosen the lower end of the shock absorber, slip the boot onto the shock absorber, position the shock boot and wire tie the top and bottom of the boot to the shock absorber. Re-install lower hardware and repeat procedure on other shock absorber.

Replace front shield and light bar (if applicable). Replace wheels and lower vehicle.
REAR SUSPENSION
C. Rear Spring Removal 1. 2. 3. 4. Loosen rear wheel lugs. Place a floor jack under the center section of the rear axle and raise just enough to place a pair of jack stands under the axle tubes and a pair under the frame. Remove the wheels. The U bolts and the hardware attaching the rear axle to the springs can be removed. NOTE: Perform one leaf spring change at a time.

Remove the rear spring shackle assembly and the front bolt of the rear spring mount. Remove the spring. Install new rear leaf spring shackle plates with existing hardware. Remove the bushings from the old spring and put into the new spring and re-install the new spring. Tighten rear hardware to 18 - 22 ft. lbs. (24 - 30 Nm) torque. Install and tighten the front spring existing hardware to 21 - 25 ft. lbs. (28 - 34 Nm) torque Remove the shock absorber and replace with new shock absorber provided in kit. Install with new shock absorber hardware. Tighten the shock absorber mounting hardware until the rubber bushings expand to the diameter of the shock absorber washer. Re-install the U bolt and secure with washers and nuts. Tighten all hardware to 18 - 22 ft. lbs. (24 - 30 Nm) torque. Repeat procedure for other side. Replace wheels and lower vehicle.
