Protest/Rally in support of those whose peaceful Wall Street occupation seeks to expose the greed and avarice that have sold off the American Dream in exchange for executive bonuses and political kickbacks.

This permit will be valid for one week and will automatically be renewed at the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestrys sole discretion or until the permit holder notifies us otherwise. The permit is valid for daylight hours only from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Overnight camping is prohibited. This permit can be cancelled by either party on 12 hours notice. This permit is not valid for the upper plaza area and does not include the stages and covered pavilions. Permits previously issued include Wednesday, October 26, and Thursday, October 27, and Friday, November 18, 2011. Permits for these events include the May Amphitheater and may necessitate the area being vacated. We will, however, make an attempt to contact the organizers of these events to share space, but approval from them is not guaranteed. Interior pathways should not be blocked in any way. Portable toilets are requiredone for females and one for males. The permit holder must make arrangements to pick up any trash, litter or debris generated while using the park. All tents, bedding, backpacks, clothing, food, etc., must be removed from the park each night. The permit holder will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves each day prior to leaving the park. No glass bottles or containers are allowed in the park (Ordinance #49771). Bathing in the park or in the park fountains is prohibited. In addition, no staking or digging is allowed due to the irrigation system. Signage is permitted so long as it is not attached with tape, nails, screws or other fasteners that would deface or mark permanent structures. Fires, or any device with an open flame, are prohibited in the park. Heating devices such as propane, patio, and camp heaters are acceptable, but subject to approval of the Fire Marshal. The use of intoxicating beverages is prohibited under this permit.. The sale of food, beverages, and/or merchandise is strictly prohibited unless authorized above. The permit holder is responsible for obtaining all application permits/licenses from the Health Department and License Collectors Office. Amplified sound at Kiener Plaza is restricted during business hours. The only amplified sound during the week is between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and after 5:00 p.m. All amplified sound must be at a level so as not to disturb the peace, quiet, comfort, or repose of neighboring inhabitants and/or park users and must confirm to Ordinance #50038. Amplified sound is prohibited during other events at the plaza. The granting of this permit in no way commits the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry nor any other city agency to provide electrical or other utility service. Marking the streets, sidewalks, pathways, grass, or bike path with paint, or field marking compound is strictly prohibited. The holder of this permit assumes full responsibility for the conduct of all participants in your event. Anyone responsible for acts of vandalism and unbecoming conduct will be prosecuted. The permit holder will be responsible for repairing of all turf/irrigation damage. Permit holder agrees to hold the city and its officers and employees harmless from any injury to property or persons occurring during this event, except for any such injury caused by the city and its officers and employees. Permit holder will protect and defend the city or its officers and employees from any and all causes of action on claims that arise from the permitted event, except for any cause of action arising from any such injury caused by the city and its officers and employees. Reservations are not transferable and may be revoked or changed at any time at the discretion of the Director of Parks & Recreation. An insurance certificate of property damage in the amount of $50,000 and personal liability insurance in the amount of not less than $100,000 for injury to one person and not less than $300,000 to two or more persons in each accident is required. The certificate must be received at least 24 hours prior to the effective date of this permit which will be October 28, 2011. The certificate must be an original copy. The following wording must appear on the certificate or the certificate will not be acceptable: The City of St. Louis and its employees and agents are additional insureds, and also the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of St. Louis and its employees and agents acting within the scope and course of their employment are additional insureds. All parties acting under this permit are additional insureds.
