Nanopoint Engine
What is it?
· Main client application engine residing on an interactive kiosk or digital sign

What does it do?

· Displays a user interface and control application flow (a “Nanopoint Skin”) using a
configuration file, a layout file, and associated media files
· Checks for skin updates and automatically updates
· Reports session activity, session detail, and terminal status to the Commandpoint
server(s).

Key Features
· Media support for various formats including but not limited to: wmv, mov, avi, mp2,
mp3, mp4, jpg, htm, flash, shockwave, etc.
· Support for Windows or OS X
· Terminals access server(s) via the general Internet
· Terminals can access server(s) via customer’s WAN before being routed to the Internet
· Configuration and layout files are XML documents, providing tremendous interface
flexibility
· Hierarchical content update support available via onsite content server
· Extensible thru DLL’s written in C/C++
· Moving to SOAP server scheme that will allow for extensibility from any script or
external application that can communicate using either SOAP or XML-RPC.

Commandpoint Agent
What is it?
• System service that runs in the background on an interactive kiosk or digital sign

What does it do?

• Provides systems management/monitoring capabilities outside of the Nanopoint engine
• Communicates with the Commandpoint server(s) via a WebService.

What is it?
• A logical collection of tools installed on one or more Window 2003 or Red Hat Linux
servers including:

m) Orion
n) Oracle
o) Commandpoint .NET Web application
p) Commandpoint .NET and J2EE Web services
q) WinSSHD / RealVNC / WinSCP /OpenSSH / NSIS
r) WebDav Content Server
s) Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services

What does it do?

• Accessed via Nanonation’s web portal through the CommandPoint Remote
Administration tools
• CommandPoint Remote Administration functions include:

Key Features
• Commandpoint server(s) normally reside at Nanonation’s hosting center
