Introduction

On 08 Octocber 2001 8: 30pm, I had attend Beethoven Solo Concerto which conduct by Jacek Kaspszyk conductor and piano perform by Stephen Kovacevich who lifting the lid on our Beethoven solo concertos at Malaysian Philharmonic orchestra, section Stalls Row G and seat 6. This Orchestra performance is around 2 hour with 20minutes break on the middle of the performance and we needed to be attend before 8:15pm before the performance start which is from 8:15pm to 10:30pm. There is total of 4 pieces has been perform on Beethoven Solo Concerto which are Beethoven: Egmont Overture, Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.1, Karlowicz: Lithuanian Rhapsody and Bartok: The Miraculous Mandarin(Suite). The hall of the concert is big and bright with the stage level is well arrange as we can see every single performer clearly on their performance. Contents

The first piece that I listen on the performance was Beethoven: Egmont Overture, which conduct by Jacek Kaspszyk. This song is built to be performing with the theme of political preoccupations. (Marty, 2002) This song play with the dark tonality of F minor as the key and with the tone color of darkness as I feel it. It using many kind of rhythm in this song which was pulse rhythm that it stop and continue many time in the performance as I can know the pulse of the pieces is giving me the feel of impulse. The form of this pieces using is sonata form which followed as the Appassionata sonata, it with the AA theme to grab the attention of us and it repeated three times, but the real theme is rise by the cellos and violas which with the AB theme. At here, it started change the tone color from darkness to the bright. (Marty, 2002) I was feel impulse on the begin of the song as it really work to attract my tension about the repeating AA theme (Marty, 2002), but it come normal listening as on the follow and attracting me back on the middle of the pieces which repeating the begin pieces that pulse rhythm, it make me feel exciting.

The second piece that I listen is Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.1 with C major, G major performance and A minor in the middle. (symphony arlington, 2010) This is the only piece that performs with piano by Stephen Kovacevich, this give me full of attention on it. This piece are a type of concerto which give a feel that with great joy and softer, that this give the musical theme for dancing character and this pieces is the classical period (All About Beethoven, 2006). Tone color of these song is bright and soft sign with the ABA (symphony arlington, 2010) which repeating the first of the form and last form. This pieces with the soft and low sound all the time, it make me not feel any much interested on it as it bored me. I heard it out there is accompaniment (All About Beethoven, 2006) and the consonance melody music, it supported by other instrument and the piano

as the main instrument. There is no high pitch on it and homophony texture. This piece gives much peaceful then other as it might bore for me as it cant raise my interest for this song. The third piece is Karlowicz: Lithuanian Rhapsody this is the most interesting and the best piece I had heard on that day. As this piece gives me feel the deeper of the tone with the poem like. The tone color is deep and plods along. (ArkivMusic, 2002) This is a kind of folksong that presented with a change of the pitch that affected me much. (ArkivMusic, 2002) This song might be the good ending song for me as this is kind of deep, slow and hollow feel for me. It gives some kind of happiness in the middle and the end of the song also. This piece suffering with a main theme of dull. This is the kind of accent which I can heard it with very low key and it combination of both consonance and dissonance. This piece grabs my attention on the beginning and begin of the chorus part as it is a suitable piece that represent my feel on that day.

Conclusion

As the conclusion (Marty, 2002)of this concerto, it is worth and my first time of experience to a Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra with amazing feel on the performance also as I can close to the real concerto as I view it only by the video last time. I would also like to recommend this kind of performance to a friend or family member and like to bring them to get the truth feel of being in the orchestra. For the last time, I was feel that it is boring and uninteresting for this kind of concerto, and it might make me sleep in the performance, but after I had been attend to this I feel this is interesting and experience it with full of attention give me feel some new kind of relaxing for my stress on daily life.
