Client : HealthHighway Inc, USA

Work place : Physician’s Software Technologies
Team size : 12 Members

Description : This is the project mainly intended to help the hospitals,

patients and Insurance companies make their daily routine work like
appointments, billing and the application is coupled with HIPAA rules. The
project has mainly three different logins for three different types of user’s viz.
Clinic, Insurance and patient. When a clinic logs into the system he can have
his patient list and also can register a patient. He has his providers affiliated
to them so that they can assign a specific patient to a specific provider
depending on the availability and the specialization. Also they can maintain
the appointment details of the clinic or for a particular provider during a day
or a week or a month view.
They can made referrals to the other providers when the situation
demands. Also the clinic can maintain the details of the recalls to be made to
the patient on a particular date. One of the important feature of this system
is to maintain the all the patient records and diagnosis charts electronically
which is call E-Clinic. He can upload the scanned reports and the case sheets
to the system for the later easy retrieval. The billing is one of the most
important modules useful for the electronic processing of all the patient bills.
The reports are in such a flexi way to generate the custom reports by the
clinic or given pre formatted reports.
When an insurance company logged in he can see the out standing
bills and also the patient associated with him. And when a patient login he
can check his status and also his billing procedure.
To achieve this goal we used java/j2ee as the medium and JBoss 3.2.4
as the EJB Container which includes tomcat as the web container. The
compiler and the project management tool is the Borland’s JBuilder and the
reporting is in portable document format using jasper reporting tool with
iReport 0.4.0 as the front end creation tool(To ease the modification of the
xml File). For generating the charts in the reports JfreeChart has been used.
The back end for this system is a oracle 8.0i server.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Involved in the design of the modules Patient, Appointments and

Reports.
2. Involved in coding and unit testing and integrating of the
program at the module level.
3. Generating Jasper reports Using Jasper Reports and iReport Tool.
