Located in Hangzhou, a historical city blessed with rich resources, talented people and prosperity, the Zhejiang Sci-Tech University is a provincial key industrial university with distinct characteristics. It has disciplines in science, industry, literature, economy, management, law and education. In April 1999, the university changed the name of Zhejiang Silk Industrial College into Zhejiang Engineering College under the approval of the Ministry of Education. It was re-named as Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in May 2004 with the approval from the Ministry of Education. The university consists of four campuses and covers an area of 140 hectares. It has 17 affiliated colleges, 1 independent college and 52 programs for bachelor degree of which 11 are provincial key programs and 4 are the characteristic program of the Ministry of Education. The university also owns 2 programs for doctors degree, 4 first-level. Disciplines for masters degree, 30 second-level disciplines for masters degree, 5 engineering programs for masters degree and 5 master program for full-time teachers in high schools. It currently has nearly 16,500 full-time undergraduates and masters of which more than 1,600 are masters and 5,000 are students for adult and continuous education and more than 8,000 students studying in the independent college.

Job Description: 1. Starting Date: February 10th t , 2012 2. Students age: in twenties 3. Class size: about 2545 students 4. Workload: 16 periods per week from Monday to Friday (45 minutes per period) Location: Xiasha Campus(Main Campus): Xiasha Higher Education Zone, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China (about 30-40 minutes ride from the university to the famous West Lake by car) Xicheng Campus: 960, Wenyi West Road Contract Terms: 1. Vacancy: 1 position 2. Nationality: USA, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, etc (English as mother tongue) 3. Age: 23 ~ 50 in good health 4. Education: bachelor or above (English Language and Literature, Pedagogics, Business and Education majors with teaching experiences are preferred) 5. Contract Duration: 1) One academic year: from February,2012 to January,2013 6. Courses: English Listening & Speaking, Oral English, English Writing, Literature, Business English (Most are conversation based) 7. Monthly Salary with 16 periods per week: 1) With a Bachelors degree, 4,800 RMB/ month. 2) With a Masters degree, 5,000 RMB / month. 3) With a Ph. D degree, 5,200 RMB/ month.

An increase of 100 (RMB) per period of Listening & Speaking, Oral English, etc. ,and 120 (RMB) per period of English Writing and other substantial courses will be added to a foreign teacher's salary for any approved periods worked overtime. 8. 9. Lodging: free The apartment is about 50 square meters, which is divided into 2 rooms kitchen and 1 bathroom, 1 and each room has one balcony. Pictures are available if needed The apartment is about 10-15minutes walking away from the campus and is equipped with basic furniture, telephone,1 air-conditioner/heater, 1 refrigerator, 1 microwave, 1 induction cooker, 1 washing machine, 1 TV, 1 DVD, 1 water heater, 1 purified water unit, ADSL,1 computer and etc. 10. Water and Local Phone Call Bill: covered by the university 11. Electricity Bill: 300 kilowatt-hours per month covered by the university, extra amount covered by foreign teachers themselves. 12. Insurance: Bills for Comprehensive Medical Insurance Plan for Foreign Expatriates (a kind of insurance in China as a supplement to foreign teachers own protection scheme) shall be covered by the university. Before the service at ZSTU, foreign teachers are expected to buy insurance regarding life and health protection in their own countries for any insurance liability.
