COBs Corner
Louisiana Gold Families, As our time onboard winds down there is a great sense of accomplishment throughout the command. Every sailor has added to LOUISIANAs successful completion of the Extended Refit Period. Every task from getting the ship in and out of dry-dock to bringing our systems back on line has been done with pride, precision and professionalism. I appreciate the job that our sailors do and the support our families provide. Help me welcome aboard our newly reported personnel, LCDR Young, HM1 Humarang, MTSN Gerke and YNSN Eagerton. Our Sailors have recently received accolades such as the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for EM1 Rittenhouse and EM2 Tagudar, Group Nine Letter of Commendation for Petty Officers Guzman, Piemont, Connelley, Pearson, Carlsen, Seaman Gukich and Crutcher. Additionally, MM3 Gonga has earned his silver dolphins, a milestone in all submariners careers! BRAVO ZULU. I fully expect there to be a host of additional awards in the near future to recognize the hard work and dedication of LOUISIANAs crew. Shortly we will be celebrating Thanksgiving; this is a great opportunity to spend some time with your family, please keep in mind that our roadways can be a dangerous place. I encourage each of you to plan ahead and take appropriate safety precautions before you exercise your holiday plans. Enjoy your holiday and please feel free to contact the Ombudsman or myself if the need arises. MMCM Dave Janowski Chief of the Boat USS LOUISIANA SSBN-743 (Gold)
